PurplePride92 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Final from the Farmers National Bank Showcase at Mercer County. The Rebels shot 24% from the floor, 2-13 from the three point line and made 18-25 from the FT line.
First Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 COLLINS (4-0) - Kidwell 11, Stone 16, Winstead 2, Page 5, Cochran 7, Miller 4, Vogel 2. BOYLE (3-1) - Keagan Hinkle 6, Chapman Bean 5, Clayton Ray 3, Zack Leigh 2, Hagen Tyler 12, Colton Elkins 8. Based on Collins' rating and Boyle's success to date, I really was looking forward to watching this one. Maybe it was due to good defense by both teams, but neither team was able to score the ball effectively. Relative to their potential, I thought Boyle played poorly on the offensive side of the ball. They have some players with the ability to score the ball but they seemed to all be having sub-par games yesterday. Yet, Collins still didn't dominate. Most of the game was very close, so the 11 point margin of victory was a little misleading. The surprise for me was that Collins didn't appear as good as I'd expected. Kidwell is a very good floor general but needs to be a little more selfish. Stone is nice as well. And they do appear very fundamentally sound and well coached. I will be curious to see how they do over the course of the season. As for Boyle, they will be fine. Have a scorer in Tyler, size in Elkins and a host of other solid players to go with them. I do think Boyle would have benefitted immensely today from a PG that can create. That takes them to another level. PG play will ultimately determine how good they can be.
Randy Parker Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Boyle got half their points at the charity stripe?
PurplePride92 Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 Boyle got half their points at the charity stripe? It was a pretty ugly game for Boyle offensively.
