Siebert played very well. He is a Summit View kid that could have went to SK. I was glad to see him play well.

Racke played most of the 4th quarter had four I believe. Hawkins started JV but doesn't dress varsity.

Saw the box-score at Cincinnati.com, WOW, Holy Cross had 27 made FT's? I'm not sure I've ever seen that before, make 27 freebies and get beat by 28? Nuts.

Racke had 6, Morrison 18, Kuntz 11, Childers 16 I think Vercheak had 8. Siebert had 24.

Holy Cross is worse than I thought they would be. They are young and small. Bezold was only kid with size and he is a little slow of foot at times. He did make a couple of nice moves. Seibert played very well for the Indians. At one time Schrand had 5 kids in there that may not have been as tall as SK's shortest man. HC was deadly from the line. Both teams came down and jacked up a bunch of 3's. Curiuos to see what shooting % was. I was hoping baseball nut would have posted stats? Neither team played ANY defense. There were several coast to coast layups. Simon Kenton has a nice team. Good size and can shoot. They are very deep as well. SK was victim to a lot of what used to be known as cheap fouls. Now I would say they fell victim to the new reffing standard. If you are out of position and your man is blowing by you, you end up reaching for them and get whistled up. Robinson, Morrison, Mullins all looked good. I was also very impressed with Kuntz. Pretty impressive for only being in the gym for a week.

Uk#1fan, question from the game, given how many FT's Holy Cross made (27 is a ton of them), and how comparatively few threes they attempted, were they taking the SK kids off the bounce and attacking the rim? I'm assuming Holy Cross must have attempted about 40 FT's? That is just a huge amount, so I'm assuming they were attacking the rim with a lot of aggressiveness.

Holy Cross reminded me of the team from Hoosiers. If only they could get Beal to play and maybe a big kid on the football team like Gangwish 6'4.

Sorry, I wasn't being critical of SK nor their ability to defend, sorry if you took it that way. I like your team this year and think you'll surprise some teams.

 

My question was more about HC's style of offense, were they in constant attack mode? I would have expected them to take more than 17 threes and I would never have thought they'd get to the line around 40 times.

...that is what I expected, which is why the 40ish foul shots really jumped out at me.
