Feeding the Rams

Raceland-Worthington Touchdown Club supplied the Rams football team with a Thanksgiving Day breakfast on Thursday morning. Players were treated to sausage and gravy, bacon, eggs, pastries, orange juice and milk. The boosters typically treat the Rams to a Friday pre-game meal, according to Melinda Gifford. The team will leave Friday morning for Williamsburg, stopping at EKU for a noon practice and then eating at Ryan's Steakhouse before traveling on for the Class A state semifinal game.

Coach Stanley, Coach Vanderhoof, and Coach Morris all joined in today.

I found out today that Coach Pack has seen every Raceland game since 1975. He saw every game that Coach Vanderhoof played.

That is correct. He coached Coach Vanderhoof, in football, basketball, and baseball.

Me too doc, I thought the world of Larry Stanley. BTW...Has anyone talked to former coach Larry Heck that you know of ? Coach Heck was as much of this tradition as anyone. Before he got to Raceland, people only would "think" about a playoff, district championship. Coach Heck was the one that started winning championships and had everyone expecting a district title every season. Others after him took it further up to where Raceland football is today.

Let's get this one before we think of those. :thumb:

Doc, I think that I saw just about every one of those games and beyond, until I just couldn't physically make it anymore. I have forgotten the number of consecutive games, home and away that I had at one time but it was a lot, over years. I did miss one in 83' when my father passed, was at his visitation that night.

The thing was, that wasn't all that uncommon, there are a lot of people that were at as many and far more than I was. My streak started around 73' thru the 80's, some of the 90's then it got sporadic until several years ago unable to get out to any.
