Are there any "Fan Buses" being chartered for this weekend ?

Featured Replies

I was going to post this on the Raceland thread and got to thinking that fans from all the schools, all levels would be interested.

Will any of the schools that have teams playing in their State Semi Final game this weekend be running any fan buses to the games ? I know that in years past, if a team had a long drive, travel time that sometimes the school or maybe the booster clubs would charter one or more fan buses to get their fans to the game. I have taken these in the past and it makes for a good time plus all arrive together for a "wave" of fans in to the stadiums, towns at once. Some stop for meals, etc..

So, here is one place to list the school if taking a fan bus along with the details if wanted.

I meant to put "being chartered / ran" for this weekend. Maybe a Mod could edit the tile. Thanks.

Raceland has a chartered bus that is already full. I'm not sure if they are getting another one or not. Ram may know.....

We tried to get a charter bus last year for the fans of Cooper for a couple of the games but the problem was we didn't have enough people sign up to make it worth the money. the sad thing was we had more fans at the games than the home teams did yet still couldn't get enough to sign up before hand to make ti worth whhile. The reason being is it really ended up costing you more if you had more than 1 person going than it would to drive yourself with the cost of gas. I think we had it where it would be like $25-$30 a person but if you were taking 2 or more people (including yourself) in your party then it really wasn't worth it. For instance I would of had 3 of us (me, my wife, my daughter) which would of cost us $90 for the bus ride. Really not cost effective.

Raceland Fans,

We are currently taking reservations for the second charter bus. You need to do this by noon tomorrow (Tues). The bus is leaving Friday from the school at 1:30pm. Be there by 1pm to pay the $35 fee. The bus will stop on the way in Winchester for lunch. No one under 18 will be allowed on the bus without a parent or adult. Contact my office at 473-5151 and ask for Jodie.

I think Frankfort is in the beginning stages of getting a fan bus together for the trip to Mayfield.
