Class A Playoffs: Raceland enters home stretch

Rams wouldn’t hit road until state semifinal round

RACELAND — Raceland football hasn’t hosted a regional final since 2008, when Lexington Christian handed the Rams a haunting loss that still lingers inside Rams Stadium.

Possibly waiting in the wings is a shot at redemption, in more ways than one.

If Raceland beats Phelps on Friday and proceeds to beat either Paintsville or South Floyd on Nov. 15, the regional final will nestle itself into the small tight-knit community of Raceland-Worthington for the first time since it saw a 20-3 regional championship lead morph into a 27-20 defeat.

:thumb: I just posted this link on the Raceland Players thread as well, was before I saw this. :lol2:

That is great about all the Raceland players getting well deserved recognition and I 100% agree on Raceland being focused. As I said in another thread, after the homecoming night loss to Lawrence Co., this team looked themselves in the mirror - re focused had haven't looked back. The encouraging thing the Rams have been better each week. Raceland is peaking at the right time and I honestly believe that the Rams best football is yet to be played.

There was a very good article in today's paper about this weeks game and Raceland's focus on the overall playoff picture along with how coach Maynard and staff are preparing, taking a business like approach (DOC, that's your cue..:D.).

This Raceland team has won plenty (around 20) I believe District Championships along with many Conference Titles through the years as well. Rams, through the years have made many Region Finals but no Region Championship. So, there is unfinished business, not only the ones listed in today's paper but down through Ram Football Tradition. .....Region Championship/State Semi-Final 4 and the KY. 1A State Championship ! Will this be the season ? We don't know but the talent is there to imo give Raceland the best shot they have ever had.

RAM PRIDE !!!

Like Race, Mf will be at home throughout the playoffs, the only game we will play away from our large and beautiful War Memorial Stadium will be if we win out and pack it up for BG. The beauty of being located in the extreme ends of the state! Of course in even years we have to travel after our first 2 playoff games but this is the odd year that we stay home

In your opinion, who do you expect to face in the regional finals?
