Northern Kentucky vs Northern Kentucky

Featured Replies

.....

Not sure the impetus for looking this up last night, but I wanted to post the records of 10 Northern KY programs (I took the "main" 10, sorry if I missed someone I should have included) since 2009 (nearly 5 seasons) only when they face other Northern KY programs. I didn't include games vs Pendleton Co, Harrison Co, or South Oldham as Northern KY.

Ranked by fewest losses:

1. Highlands 26-1 (only loss to Ryle in 2010)

2. Simon Kenton 27-10 (ZERO games versus Highlands or CovCath in that stretch)

3. CovCath 23-11 (7 losses to Highlands / 2 losses to Ryle ['09 and '10] and 1 to Conner & NewCath)

4. Beechwood 31-14

5. Conner 26-14

6. Ryle 26-15 (their record of 3-8 since August of 2012 has dropped them considerably)

7. NewCath 29-16

8. Cooper 18-23

9. Boone 10-24

10. Dixie 18-27 (they, Beechwood, and NewCath have played the most games vs NoKY teams in the span)

Not sure what, if anything, this all means (besides Highlands is in a whole different league [which we already knew]), but thought it interesting. CovCath being 16-4 in non-Highlands games over that span is impressive, but again, about what I expected.

Simon Kenton's record was better than I thought (helped by 14-0 in 2013 and 2009), but if they aren't going to schedule Highlands, or at least CovCath, it all rings a little hollow to me when they start beating their chest (by they, I guess I mostly mean uk#1fan :lol2:).

No real shocker for me, although it's good to document the rise in SK football. The stats really show how far Boone and Dixie had fallen over the timeframe. Glad to see DH back on the right track.

I wish you would have included So. Oldham since they play in a district with all teams in NKY, that way Cooper would have 3 more wins lol.

Then by that logic I'd have added Pendleton Co and Harrison Co so CovCath and HHS would have each added a boatload of wins. Not that Highlands needs them....

Six of the 10 SK loses came in a down 2011 season. Lot's of injuries to key players and a young QB that was over his head....who has now developed into a top tier QB- Brennan Kuntz.

True, very true....ok, I'll crawl back under my rock

I don't think it tells us anything we did not already know.

I would be more interested in the district only records of all the teams.
