Lexington Catholic 54 Madison Central 28

Coach Brown is going to be fine, he'll have the Indians back. Just a tough year this year, they won't have many classes to match last year's class with Hawkins, Bosley, Stocker, and Parks-- that was just an exceptionally talented Mad Cen class.

With that said, hats off to the kids out there playing hard tonight. From the sounds of it, they made it interesting for awhile and represented their school and community well. I'd say it's a performance that was better than most expected.

I think the combination of Madison Central being down (a little state championship hangover) and Madison Southern being up is the exception, not the rule. The Indians will rebound, and their best football of the year is probably ahead of them. They were probably expected to lose this one to Lexington Catholic, so not really much else to say.

The Indians set the tone with an on-sides kick to start the game. They tried some reverses in the first series. The tone set was - we may be the underdog but we will not go quietly. And they did not. Excellent scouting led to a game plan that was working well.

The QB for MC is only a freshman but he did a good job. At times better than good. In the end LexCath had too many weapons.

Noah Mitchell had some good runs and scored 2 TDs, Marcelis Logan had some good runs off the edge and 2 TDs. Carter Gray had some quality minutes and a TD.
