LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Ten football seasons ago, Stefan Lefors was helming the Louisville Cardinal offense under then-head coach Bobby Petrino. Lefors finished his U of L career as the 4th all-time leading passer. His Liberty Bowl champion team was 11-and-1 and finished 6th in the AP poll.

Lefors was known as an offensive dynamo. Now he's known as "coach."

Lefors is in his third season as the head coach at Christian Academy. The Centurions are off to a 4-0 start---their best ever. The lessons learned at UofL, along with stops in the NFL and CFL, are being passed along to a new generation of players.

CAL has been a Bardstown (or Bethlehem) opponent almost since their inception, so I've seen them almost every year, and the systemwide improvement over the last few years has been noticeable.

Seems like all of their sports have been getting better over time. It seems that their basketball team has gotten much more respectable over time.

They have a showdown with the DeSales Colts in mid-October. I'm happy to see non-6A teams doing well in Jefferson County (Central's recent success diuly noted).
