Holy Cross and Bellevue played 3 sets of 10 plays from scrimmage each. This part of the scrimmage was dominated by Bellevue scoring several times.

 

After a break, both teams played two quarters in game mode. Final: 0-0. Neither offense did very much. No returns allowed on kicking game. QBs were not allowed to run or be hit.

I'm not sure what scrimmage you watched or who gave you this info, but Bellevue scored at least 6 touchdowns before I left after about an hour of scrimmage. Holy Cross is the team that did absolutely nothing. As I posted in another thread:

 

I went to the scrimmage last night and was very impressed by the coaching staff of Bellevue. Johnny Poynter has been doing is great job with a team that looked really bad since Dave Eckstein stopped coaching. However, I was definitely not impressed by the coaching staff of Holy Cross. I would expect a lot more out of a team with so much more talent and coached by a former NFL player in Bruce Kozerski. Holy Cross looked terrible, they couldn't move the football, and couldn't tackle at all. Bellevue on the other hand had no issues with either aspect. Bellevue was much smaller on the line on both sides of the ball, yet were blowing plays up in the backfield on defense and creating huge holes on offense. Bruce, I think you have work to do. Maybe a little more coaching and a little less screaming and they might listen.

Holy Cross has less than 40 players and a bunch of them are Freshman it will be a long season.

I don't think you read my initial post very well, especially about the part of "Holy Cross and Bellevue played 3 sets of 10 plays from scrimmage each. This part of the scrimmage was dominated by Bellevue scoring several times." Bellevue scored several touchdowns during the first half of the scrimmage. They did VERY well in execution. If you were there only an hour and left during or before the halftime activities, you totally missed the live game mode scrimmage. Neither team scored in two quarters of action. It was a "punt fest". I looked at the game mode action as more reflective of where the teams were. In the first half of the scrimmage, HC ran the same play (a Beal run) five times in a row as a teaching moment for the offensive line. They would never do that in a real game. I saw the entire scrimmage...you obviously did not. If I had to pick a "winner", I think Bellevue did a whole lot better over all. On offense, they had plenty of time to throw and they put a ton of pressure on HC on defense. Holy Cross is young and are being forced fed a lot. By the way...you have no idea of the dynamics of the HC coaching staff if you are not around them everyday. On occasion, Koz plays "bad cop" to get the attention of the players. The rest of the coaches are very patient and play "good cop" attempting to teach the young men the nuances of the game. Not all of the players have come through the junior program like other schools. It may be a long year or it might not. Koz is preparing them for success over 4 years. I wish Bellevue a lot of success this year. I met a lot of nice Bellevue fans last night. I recommend that you not stir up trouble where none is necessary.
