I'm trying to fill some gaps in the Lee County basketball coaching chronology. Usually I can Google this kind of recent information, but have struck out this time. So far I have:

Always start with the KHSAA files, but there are some gaps for Lee Co. Usually can fill in some coaches info with Google but not this time.

Lee County Coach Danny Wright has resigned. Coach Wright had been at Lee County since 2002/3 with an overall record of 142-149 (92-99 region) (43-38 district) with 3 district championships.

 

2002/3: 10-15 (6-12 region) (0-7 district)

2003/4: 12-15 (6-11 region) (1-7 district)

2004/5: 11-16 (5-12 region) (1-6 district)

2005/6: 24-8 (17-4 region) (10-0 district) -- District Champs

2006/7: 14-11 (10-6 region) (5-2 district)

2007/8: 11-16 (9-9 region) (4-3 district)

2008/9: 14-12 (12-4 region) (7-0 district) -- District Champs

2009/10: 8-14 (5-12 region) (3-4 district)

2010/11: 13-16 (9-9 region) (5-2 district) -- District Champs

I go back a few years. Gene Flynn coached Lee County in the early 1960's until Heber Dunaway took over around 1965. Dunaway caoched until around 1981 (winning the 14th region in 1968 and 1973) and was replaced by his assistant Charles Duncil. I'm not sure how many years Duncil coached but I don't think it was about 3 or 4. He resigned and replaced by Coach Hogan (I know him well but can't think of his first name right now). Hogan coached through the end of the 1980's and I believe he was replaced by Cruise, the father of Lee Cruise who is on Channel 18 news. Then Dee Hutchins coached for several years and was followed by a secession of coaches until Danny Wright settled in until his recent resignation.

I have copies of the KHSAA coaching lists from 1939 through 1954; the 1955-1992 lists are online; have KHSAA publications from 1996-2000; and have gathered names from various sources over the years. But they are not always spot on. I'll keep all the info you guys have supplied as I type it all up. I appreciate y'all's input.
