There were a few schools that did not turn in nominations before the deadline: Bellevue, Dayton, Beechwood, Holy Cross.

 

To me, this is ridiculous. With the NKSCA, I can see why the 9th Region has the lowest participation in the KSCA. That's fine, if you all want to have your own sandbox on the playground, enjoy!!:thumb: But, for those schools to not even participate in YOUR own reindeer games is inexcusable.

As a parent, I too put little interest in "coach voted" polls and awards for the obvious examples and bias listed above, but they do have meaning to the players. The girls like it when they receive some recognition for their efforts and sacrifices, and if, as a coach, you are so indifferent, lazy, ambivalent or whatever the reason, to not go to the trouble of sending in a list of 5 of your players who you may feel are deserving of praise, then you get a big fat "F" as a coach, and should move aside for someone else to take your spot that will have ALL of your player's best interest at heart.

I have no dog in this fight, as we have nothing like this in our area, but I know my DDs coach puts forth the effort to not only teach, coach and improve his players, but also to fairly promote them when available. It's part of the job!!

Congratulations to Dallis Knotts and Haylee Smith, the two outstanding young ladies I have the pleasure of knowing and coaching, and equally to Madison Moran, whom I have met many times and enjoyed watching, for all of your hard work and successes. Though you may be unrecognized in this list, through no fault of your own, your actions leave a resounding legacy in the NKY softball community for years to come.

For the coaches who did not recognize Smith, hope you feel good about yourselves. Time and again, NKY proves it is really just a small town where cronyism rules the day.

We are not afraid come talk to me and I will show anyone who we voted for 1-19 as we were happy to vote and wanted to vote for more but as stated we could only vote as directed. I can tell you that Boone voted for Smith as player of the year from the list of nominees. It has no bearing on anything other than playing on the field. Moran or Hermann was not on the list of players to vote ao it is impossible for coaches to vote players not on the list but somehow they did get honorable mention. I wish they were in the list they both would have been at least first team.

Question, since Holy Cross and Beechwood did not nominate any players did they vote for the nominated players...not that it should have had much effect on Smith bc she should be very well known to ALL nky coaches. But both those schools are in her district and you would hope would have given her high marks..

When the coaches end it to me will be happy to run it.

I have no idea we do not see what school voted and who did not. I would think if you did not take the time to nominate how could you take the time to vote, if you want to vote then why would not mominate your own players. No excuse everyone carries a phone or device that has a calendar that will remind you to get your nominations in on time and every coach has assistant coaches that help in reminding coaches of things coming up. Do we forget some things yes we all do but if it helps your kids out then we need to do whatever it may be for them to get a little recognition at the end of the year they are the ones that put up with coaches and parents all season long why not take the little bit of time it takes to not only nominate but vote for these kids.

IMO the two best players in NKY are Smith and Moran.

 

:thumb: Couldn't agree more. What a joke that these two did not make it on the first team. And for a coach not to nominate any of his players, especially of this caliber, UNBELIEVABLE!
