Bellevue guard Jeremy Wight.....36pts last night

Featured Replies

I know he plays for a small school but he seems to have tremendous skills and has been starting since he was a freshman. His foul trouble in the NCC game essentially cost them the Win..... where would you rank him with other guards like Vories, Hester, Jefferson, etc....?

I've heard this kid can light it up out to NBA range. Who was the opponent?

Villa Madonna, but that is still a ton of points. He seemed to handle Kevin Beuter easily in the NCC game and I rank Beuter up there with the best.

No doubt... :thumb:

Unfair to compare him to those players mentioned because he is in a totally different situation as he must do it all for Bellevue.

He can shoot very well from long distances. His small size hurts him inside on drives and on defense. He reminds of Bibbins from Holy Cross but not as quick but maybe a better shooter from outside.

I understand that Wight is the Tigers primary scoring threat but thought that Kilgore could drain the three, and that Haynes was a stud inside. Is Wight having to do too much on his own?

Wight is the main scoring threat by far and teams must account for him out to NBA range 3 point land. That opens things up for others but only if he can get the ball to them. I'm pretty sure he leads in assists too. He also can penetrate with the dribble and that can open things up too. I don't think it is having to do too much but they are what they are and that is an above average small school (D3) that will beat most the other D3 schools and lose to the (D2, D1) bigger schools.

Good analysis..... if Chas Moore stays at Bellevue and Pat Mchale doesnt flunk out this year.... you could have had 4 senior guards who can all bang the 3 from downtown....penetrate the lane as well as play very good defense as Moore, Kilgore and wight get plenty of steals.

Well Haynes didn't play last night and Jeremy was just feeling the three... He is the backbone of the team... Nice performance MO!

Very possible. 1 or 2 players at the Class A level can make a huge difference in basketball or football.

I thought Kilgore was a shooter, what kind of year is he having?

Who else is on the floor with Wight, Kilgore and Haynes?

Hey Zoo... I love the avatar... :thumb:

Maybe we just need to congratulate Mr. Wight on a phenomenal night's work... :D

Allow me to say WOW!

Good job Jeremy... :thumb:

How big is he? Is he playing in college? I haven't ever seen Bellevue play

Kilgore is a great shooter and is having a nice year...He hit some big shots last night I believe.

Bellevue also has Senior big men Kurt Janson and Mike Riley. Janson scored 15 points last night I believe, and is a nice presence inside. Riley plays with a tough mentality and takes control of the paint. He had 6 blocks last night and is continuing to be a force down low. Senior Steve Baker comes off the bench and you can count on him to make atleast one three when he comes in.

Wight is a smaller guy but very quick and very good skills. I would think he could possibly play at a small NAIA school ... I don't think he will be forced to hit the playgrounds after this year... there should be some hope.
