Rex Booth confirmed on Twitter that he is the new head coach at Hopkins Central. Booth was a former assistant at Glasgow. He was head coach at Livingston Central two years ago, leading them to a district title.

Last year, he took the assistant job at Trigg County with their head coach announcing his retirement at season's end. He appeared to be a lock for the job until the school hired Payton Croft.

Hopkins Central has a good young coach who should turn the program around

I wondered what happened with that.

I wondered what happened with that.

Me too.

Russell Malone (former Warren East & Clarksville, TN Head Coach) moved to Trigg County three years ago and was assistant thinking he would take over for Mike Wright, same thing with Rex Booth this year. Both thought would take over, decision committee was torn between the two so went with the 3rd candidate, the outsider. Compromised.

More than one assistant at Trigg has gone in with that goal in mind....

Hey Scribe...here is your "boy" Izzy in action. This hack even tried to go after legendary coach Nick Saban. He has been totally proven a liar and a fraud...

Did not get to see Central this summer, but I do know they have some higher expectations. The jv squad was very successful and they lost several seniors, so that group will come in and should take over. Hope to see them soon.
