The KHSAA Academic All-State teams were announced, and although I don't have the complete list, I got word from Coach Devin Duvall that the Owen County Rebels had 7 players make first team and overall had a 3.55 GPA. Blaine Forsee, Chad McDonald, Carson Williams, Jarrod Ball, Trevor Lykins, Tucker Trenary and Justin Shelton made the team.

 

Another 5 Rebels made Honorable mention: Zach Ripy, Vince Toftness, MAson Borchers, Hunter Trenary and Nolan Tackett.

 

This is one of their team goals. Glad to see they got it done.

That's great! What a team GPA! What are the requirements to be first team?

 

I'd be curious to see how many of the players, that get talked about on here due to their prowess on the basketball floor, made this list!!! Huge kudos to those that show up on both!

So, it doesn't necessarily identify the cream of the crop by differentiating for advanced classes, but at least it is an indicator.

Congrats to Owen Co. Where can you find a full list? Can someone post a link?

Each school gets a huge packet of academic all state certificates and then gives them out accordingly. A full state wide list I doubt exists considering the schools deal with the award. Could literally be thousands of athletes state wide with one of the two certificates. Not to take away from making this list as it is very important, but it is not an honor you are competing against other athletes to make. If your GPA falls in one of those two categories you are in. IF you do fall in that category and do not get a certificate it is your AD not passing them out.
