Enquirer NKY All-Star Teams

Featured Replies

Great explanation from Richard Skinner on some questions on this thread. Always tough to pick and compare kids.

Though it seems NKY often forgets the 8th or some of the Southern 10th region folks on these types of list, I think this time they did a good job including them with 15 picks from the 8th region and first teamer Mason Monroe getting recognized from Pendleton County.

We know that these lists will never make everyone happy. My point is that Morgan was recognized by the entire state as an HM selection but was placed lower locally. I don't know which is correct but it is ironic.

Congrats to all of the kids but until you see all of the kids play and their importance to their team these types of selections will always be questioned.

There is a lot of good talent returning next year, cant wait to tune in.

afi100guy: If you are talking about McGovney he was a tough one to leave out, but he missed so much time due to the injuries and he wasn't the same player. Hopefully a little more time to heal will help and without a doubt if that's the case Thomas More got an absolute steal.

nkybandit: Morgan was on the cusp of making second team, but as is usually the case when you put one on you have to take one off and I couldn't justify taking anyone else off.

I had the Gallatin girls represented on first and second team.

You really must not have compared at any high school stats. Morgan averaged 20.7 ppg and 6.1 rpg. Also, Morgan played on the same aau team with MICHAEL BUETER, NICK JACKSON, and ANDREW SAMPSON which you put on the first team and JAKE SCHULTE which is on your second team. He Led in ppg on this aau team and Im sure any of these guys would tell you that he could and did outplay any of them on any given day. As a guard he was also like 2nd in rebounding. So.....you should have given credit where credit was due even though his high team lacked the talent to get farther than they did this season. Anyway he is looking forward to graduating and playing this fall for Asbury Mens Basketball team.
