April 23, 201313 yr To compare the Bengals with the Ravens last year is just a joke, sorry. You want to know why? The Ravens, just like other good teams, know how to beat teams when they need to. Bengals under Marvin Lewis are horrible when playing teams with winning records. Ravens, not so much. Your comparison is like saying people think the Caviliers have as good as a chacne to win it all this year as the Heat because the Heat lost a couple games. Now if you I would have said the Bengals were like the Pats or the Packers then I would understand your point. However when the Ravens sucked down the stretch, were one game away from missing the playoffs, and had a QB who was playing terrible in December. Not to mention having very few people thinking they had any chance to win the Super Bowl with how they were playing. I would say it is a good comparison to say the Bengals were very similar to them. Especially now when that same Ravens team lost a lot of their key pieces, so that one game away they were from missing the playoffs could end up being another loss or two and not making it at all. Not to mention sometimes it takes a little luck to make a run. Ravens probably lose both games to the Steelers if Big Ben plays both games, instead they only lost one of the two he didn't play. The Ravens don't get past the 2nd round if the Broncos safety didn't make one of the stupidest mistakes in history by letting a guy get behind him like that. No doubt the Ravens had some talent, but they also had a lot of luck their way and a QB who stepped up his game finally in the playoffs after being terrible his first few years in the playoffs and the team winning despite of him before last year. However once he played well they end up winning it all. So I will stick to my the Bengals are very similar to them and could make a run depending on the play of Dalton.

You saying the Ravens didn't have a chance at the Super Bowl does not equate to Everyone saying they didn't have a chance at the Super Bowl. I thought they had as good of a chance to getting there than anyone. Ravens and Texans and Patriots were my 3 favorites going into the playoffs to make it to the big game. You also said Ravens QB has been terrible in the playoffs leading into last year. Do you even know how good Flacco has been in post season? Let me help educate you about Flacco. He has won at least 1 post season game every single year he has been in the league. Did you also know that Flacco has made it to the AFCCG the past 2 years in a row? how in the world can you say he's been terrible in the post season until he got lucky last year? And you compare him and the Ravens to the Bengals???? Really???? Dalton has won how many post season games thus far???????? Did you know Flacco won as many playoff games his first year as dalton has playoff games appearances combined? And you say I make things up? LOL

Did you know Flacco won as many playoff games his first year as dalton has playoff games appearances combined? And you say I make things up? LOL So you didn't think the Broncos were that much of a threat to make the super bowl even though they were the 1 seed in the AFC? I am not saying you didn't think this, however if you did can you show us where you said that on here? I am not saying I don't believe you, however I still would like to see it. It sure seems like you think you are right on a lot of things, but you never seem to come out and say things until after the fact. As you see I have no problem putting myself out there in what I think will happen. So if you did say that, I must admit good call on that one, because most people wouldn't have thought so. Now on to Flacco, oh my how quickly people forget things. Also look at the keys words in my post of me saying the Ravens wining despite of how bad Flacco played in the playoffs his first few years. Man oh you you never really look closely into things, no wonder why we are so far off on things. So here are some stats for you my friend: His rookie year in two of his wins he had completion percentages of 39% and 50%. A QBR of 46 and 63. He threw for a total of 296 yards in those games. Hmmm sure doesn't sound like he did much to help his team win those games. Sounds like a good running game and defefense did that. Now the game he lost in the playoffs that year it didn't get much better with a completion percentage of 43% a QRB of 5% and 3 interceptions. Hmmm yeah great QB play, and sure seems like they won despite of his play. His 2nd year in the league doesn't get to much better and yet his team still won a game despite of him. His stats for those two games were completion percentages of 40% and 57% a QBR of 17.3 and 17.7 and 3 interceptions and 0 touchdowns for a total of 210 yards combined in 2 games. The man threw one touchdown pass in his first two years in the post season in 5 total games. Man sure doesn't seem like good QB play to me even though they won. Now in this 3rd year he finally had a good playoff game where he helped his team win against the Chiefs. Threw for 2 touchdowns 73% completion percentage and a QBR of 66.4. So it was 3rd season when he finally had a good playoff game, hmmm isn't it about to be someone else's 3rd season who is looking for his first good playoff game too? However he then followed that good game up with another bad playoff game the very next week. Throwing for a total of 125 yards 1 touchdown 1 interception and a QBR of 18. Now his 4th year in the playoffs he once again had another bad game throwing for only 176 yards a completion percentage of 51% and a QBR of 18.7. Maybe my math is wrong but that made one good playoff game by him in his first 8 playoff starts, yet he did have 5 playoff wins by that time. Sure seems like they were winning despite how bad he played, and was not because of what he was doing. Now his 2nd game in his 4th year he did play pretty well and it should have gotten him to the Super Bowl, this was the game against the Pats where he threw a perfect pass that was dropped. So basically it took him until his 9th playoff game before he really started doing much to help his team win games, and I will admit it did carry over to last year and he played really well in the playoffs after having bad games in the regular season. So please tell me again how wrong I am to say that the team was winning despite of his bad play his first few years in the league? The numbers seems to support me more than you. However as we know you only look at things on the outside when forming your opinion, you don't really like to take a deep look into things.
April 24, 201313 yr Author How many postseason wins does Flacco have? How many does Dalton have? How many seasons since Flacco been in the NFL has he won in the post season? How many of Dalton's NFL seasons has he won in the post season? Case closed.
April 24, 201313 yr How many postseason wins does Flacco have? How many does Dalton have? How many seasons since Flacco been in the NFL has he won in the post season? How many of Dalton's NFL seasons has he won in the post season? Case closed. Ha true since you can't argue against the numbers I posted, you want to go back and just look at things from the outside instead of looking at things as a whole and in depth. Hey man whatever makes you feel better in supporting your arguments though. Flacco was horrible for basically every playoff start in 7 out of his first 8 playoff games. However since he had a good defense, special team play, and a solid running game they were able to win games. Bengals have a good defense, ranked as one of the top special teams last year too. Now they don't have as solid of a running game though as the Ravens I must admit, however they do have a top WR that the Ravens never had. So yes if Dalton can step up his play then they very easily can be like the Ravens last year. Flacco's first good game in the playoffs was in this third season, the other games they did win but he didn't really do much to help. He honestly played very similar to Dalton in his two playoff games. He just had a better overall team, but the Bengals are getting there. However just like the Ravens they need their QB to play good to have a true shot to make it or win the super bowl. Raven's couldn't get there until Flacco played well in playoff games. But I know you like ignoring things like that. So lets just agree to disagree again and stop because once again we can keep going back and forth. You just looking at things from the outside, while I look at things in depth. We are never going to get anywhere with this. So agree to disagree.

What more do you want? Bottomline is this, you said no one thought Ravens would go to the Super Bowl because they were supposedly so bad, you also stated Flaco has been terrible in the postseason and all I did was prove to you that not only did the Ravens go to back to back AFCCG's but that Flaco has also won in the playoffs every single year he has been in the NFL. His numbers may not be what you want, but I'd take his results anyday over Dalton's so far. Your comparisons have always lacked substance. First Dalton is as good as Brees....not even close, and then Ravens are like the Bengals....not even close. Do me a favor, keep your comparisons to apples and apples such as Dalton is like Alex Smith or the Bengals are like the Cleveland Browns.

I will try to put it in elementary terms and say please try to support your opinion with numbers. Show me how Dalton is like Alex Smith especially Smith during his first two years. Please show me how the current team the Bengals have had the last few years is like the Browns. I have shown you why I use the comparisons I do. So at least please backup your opinions when you want to. Also my comparison with Dalton and Flacco is right on. I have admitted Dalton has played bad in the post season, however your boy Flacco who you want to talk about who won games also played bad but the team was able to overcome his mistakes, the Bengals couldn't do that for Dalton. However if you want to be one of the usual ones who gives QB's to much credit for a win, and blame to much on QB's for a lost go ahead. That is the typical average Monday morning QB for you right there who only looks at things on the outside instead of more in depth. So please back your opinion on your stuff, at least I do that with mine and show where I come up with my opinions.

You tell me how the Bengals are like the Super Bowl and 2 time AFCCG participant Ravens. Please enlighten all of us please. Here is the problem I have with all your comparisons you ever make. It's always comparing the Bengals or a player to one of the best teams or players in the league. You always tend to reach big time when you make your comparisons. If the Bengals or any of their players are so great then why haven't they done squat? Serious question. Why do you always pick out the best in the league and compare them to the Bengals? Alex Smith is closer to Dalton for the pure fact that neither has won anything in their first couple years and if you remember Smith was supposed to be one of the best. Browns are a lot closer to the Bengals than the Ravens. Ravens have already accomplished huge things in recenet history, the Browns are still trying to get there just like the Bengals. Next thing you will be comparing Marvin Lewis to Don Shula.

Next thing you will be comparing Marvin Lewis to Don Shula. Alex Smith sucked his first two years and wasn't winning, nice try. Andy Dalton has better numbers than Brees had in his first 3 seasons, so that is a good comparison to use since talking about Andy in his third year and where Brees was at that time. The Bengals finished with the exact same record as the Ravens last year, where were the Browns? The Bengals been in the playoffs 3 out of the last 4 years which not many teams in the NFL can say that basing it all players of today and not in the past. The Ravens lost their heart and soul of their team in Rey Lewis, and their playmaker in Ed Reed. They lost Boldin who made all kinds of big catches for them on their post season run. So with the Bengals having the same record as the Ravens last year, and basically keeping the team intact and adding some new ones through the draft. While the Ravens probably have gotten worst, it is easy to say the Bengals are right up there with them right now. However I know things like that are hard for you to believe, even if its presented right in front of you like I did. However it really doesn't matter because I have shown you countless times on how these things are true, but you want to live with what happened in the 90's and early 2000's still. So this is pointless. So once again lets agree to disagree and move on.

Those things are only true if Dalton ends up being one of the best QB's ever and a shoe in for the Hall of Fame, that has yet to come to fruition so you saying you have proven the comparisons to be true is wrong wrong wrong. The Bengals will need to wint he SB this year for your comparison to the Ravens to come true, I don't see that happening either. so again your comparison is wrong wrong wrong.

The Bengals will need to wint he SB this year for your comparison to the Ravens to come true, I don't see that happening either. so again your comparison is wrong wrong wrong. My comparison is not wrong wrong wrong. For the one millionth time I neve said Dalton will end up having a hall of fame career like Dalton. However for people like you and others who seem to think Dalton won't improve much if at all, it is a good comparison to use. People act like the flaws he has can't be fixed. Same things were said about Brees and he even had more flaws present after three years. I have clearly said everytime if Brees who is very similar to Dalton can go from being even worst than Dalton in his first three years to a hall of fame QB.Then Dalton very easily can end up being a top 10 QB in the NFL. However you seen the word Brees and chose to ignore the whole point of what I was saying, and acting like I was saying he will end up being as good. So as usual nice try. As for the Bengals and the Ravens even if the Bengals are right with the Ravens right now like I believe. They also would need to be lucky like the Ravens to win the Super Bowl. The Ravens converted a 4 and 27 on a dump off pass to beat the Chargers or the Bengals would have won the division last year. Then in the playoffs they were lucky the Broncos safety was an idiot and for some reason let a guy get behind them. So even though I do believe the Bengals are right there with the Ravens now, I also know it took the Ravens being rather forunate. Which gets back to what I said last year which is as long as you get in the playoffs, then anything can happen. However you also took that as meaning I said the Bengals would win the Super Bowl. I have been very clear about this, no matter how you try to spin it.

If you aren't comparing Brees to Dalton and expect Dalton to be like Brees is, then why do you continue to use Brees in your comparisons? You can't just say, well this guy had 2 or 3 bad years out of his 15 year career so I will simply compare my guy to this guys in these 2 years. You could do that with anyone then. If you aren't comparing the two then quit using them in your comparisons. You say I keep ignoring what your saying, but you continue to say things like this "I have clearly said everytime if Brees who is very similar to Dalton..." If that isn't a comparison then what is it? Now about teams being very fortunate, as you use the Ravens as your example, don't most teams get fortunate on their runs to SB victories? The Steelers in 2005 making a shoe string tackle on Betti's fumble to keep Indy from scoring the winning TD, or the NY Giants in both their SB victories getting fortunate with a couple lights out catches to keep drives alive for the winning scores? or the Pats 1st SB victory, weren't they fortunate to get the tuck rule to keep Oakland from winning that game? The point is the Ravens were much more talented than the Bengals last year and to think they weren't simply shows your bias. To compare a team that went to back to back AFCCG's and including a SB win to a team like the Bengals is silly. That is why comparing the Browns to the Bengals is a lot closer than the SB Champs to the bengals, a team that hasn't won a single playoff game in an entire generation.

So ravens one game away from Bengals winning division and ravens missing playoffs. But the ravens were much more talented ok then? That's why experts even have been talking about how the Bengals don't have really many glaring needs. But hey your right. As for Dalton and drew you just don't get it. My comparison is valid because of coarse you won't compare Dalton to drew whole career. When making a comparison You use the comparison to the same time line simple concept man. Which each time I clearly state that to. You forget the whole reason was to show its to early for people to act like they know he won't get much better. Drew was the perfect example of that especially their skill set. So to compare you use the same time lines my man. It's how things like that work.
