It's a good thing the coach has scheduled some of those tough Ohio teams you suggested. It'll get the girls ready for districts, regionals & state!

Your right, Lakota east, Troy, and Seton should test them

I'm sure Lakota West & Ursuline Academy will too. Hope you are feeling a little better now about the testing the girls have in their future.

You are right all of those teams should be a good test.

First HHS game I have missed in couple years (had a chance to go to The Masters Sat & Sun) Hated to miss this game but glad I missed the play you mentioned not to mention she missed a sign! Lets hope she doesnt make these mistakes again. She likes playing First but has a lot to learn! Can't make mental mistakes like that and miss signs if your going to beat good teams! ND is a good team and Smith is a very good pitcher!

I was definitely NOT dressed for this one. Quite a few BGP'ers in the crowd for this one.

Smith pitched a very good game and was hitting her spots. She had great movement on her ball from my vantage point, behind the backstop. The Birds did not help themselves on quite a few plays, especially the 1st ND run where the rightfielder makes a catch and the ND runner tags and is out by 2-3 steps, but the Highlands 1st baseman (who is new to the position) cuts the throw.

One thing that impressed me though, after Shelby Graybill laced a single the next batter Dutcher lays down a very nice bunt, without hesitation Graybill pays a visit to the 2nd base bag and continues on into third. It just shows this young lady knows the game and was looking ahead and realized no one was covering 3rd. Although Haylee Smith raced over to take the throw, she was not in time.

You all are definatley heading in the right direction. Everyone sees it including NDA who knows as well as anyone. Your new coach is making a difference and it shows. I look to see Highlands on the top 10 list for a few years to come.
