Simon Kenton 15 Holy Cross 5

Main story line of the game was the cold. This game was very cold and ugly, neither team played well but obviously SK played better.

HC jumped out to a 5-0 then SK chipped away until the bottom of the 6th leading 7-5 the get 8 runs for the walk off win.

SK did not start their #1 pitcher and HC took advantage early. Erica Lang came in, in the 6th and looked really good.

HC's pitcher had a very good and bad game. When she threw strikes she did very well getting a lot of K's. SK did have some very good hits when they counted but way to many walks by HC and a couple really bad errors. I would not be shocked if HC's pitchers had 15 to 20 walks in the game (it felt like 50 so I am guessing 15!). Sk's starting pitcher had a lot of the same problems early in the game with walks and some errors by SK's infield.

My first chance to Kennedy Baugh, although she didn't catch and probably didn't have her best game she sure looks the part and you could tell she is going to be a special player.

Ball just carries well at SK!!

I heard she is hitting in the neighborhood of .800, not bad for a kid not included in the 9th Region top 10 players. Oh yeah, a D1 signee also.

That all changes Thursday afternoon when the Breds come a callin'. :lol2:

Lawnboy if you get off work you are going to have to keep the book and text me with updates. This Holy Thursday game is Holy crap when you can't get off for a noon time game.

If HC is able to stay within 6 of NCC that will be a win for them!

Holy Cross has cancelled today's matinee with NCC to due field conditions.

NCC field was available from what I gather.

Why didn't they just move the game and play at NCC then?

Just Holy Cross being Holy Cross

You are right about that. The field faces the east and the wind always seems to be coming out of the west. Makes the game a little more fun IMO. And I am certainly not saying that is the reason for any Home Run that has ever been hit out of SK either, it still has to be hit. Good luck to your team and daughter, hope your pitcher is doing better, she throws the ball well.

HC coach said he already told his players the game was cancelled, before NewCath could offer to play at Bartlett Field.

BTW, my 10 year old has practice at Bartlett Field in 30 minutes.
