Peyton Woods hits a 3 pointer with seconds left to give Wayne a 67-66 lead. Chase Fain had his game win ing attempt blocked.

 

 

Fain finished with 30 points I believe. The Wayne County Big 3 all had great games. I am unsure of their scoring totals but I was told they all played great.

 

I was getting text messages about the game and it was even awesome in text format.

 

I should have came home a week earlier. I messed up. Won't happen again.

Unbelievable game. Place was packed. Fain was Fain. Woods was tough. Hit shots but got to rim as well.

Terrific ball game by both clubs. Neither team deserved to lose. Woods three was an absolute ice-water shot, especially since I didn't think he had played his best game. West couldn't get their last possession going toward the basket. Fain had to come back to the ball, which put him too deep for a very good look. But my gosh what a terrific player Fain is. He had a stretch of about four minutes in the second half where he absolutely took the game over. He can be a tremendous player at a school like Transylvania or Centre. Great game!

Place was packed.

 

Indeed it was. No seats available, stage full, fans standing about two-deep in the endzone, and many lingering around the guard rails across the upper section. And the crowd was into it the whole game.

Peyton Woods hit a three-pointer with 3 seconds left to give Wayne County, No. 22 in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, a 67-66 victory against West Jessamine in the 12th Region boys' semifinals on Friday night at Lincoln County.

Woods scored 19 points and Trey Blevins had 18 for the Cardinals (26-7).

West Jessamine had taken a 66-64 lead on a pair of free throws by Will Henderson with 15 seconds to go.

Chase Fain led the Colts with 30 points and six rebounds. Daulton Peters had 17 points and eight rebounds.
