not trying to call the young lady out. Great player. But on that comment, I saw a team over play her to the right and made her go left. She seemed to really struggle with that. I've only seen her once. Can anyone that has seen her multiple times fairly confirm or deny that? Just curious.

 

She does favor going to her right a ton and does struggle going left, but as Clyde stated, a lot of kids and players at every level seem to have problems like that. Bolden at Holmes tends to only go one side majority of the time. Lebron James still has problems going to his left and Kobe Bryant proved that the case in the All Star game.

 

Either way, she is still a force and I bet she's biting at the bit for another chance to play boone in the Regionals

Anyone know know how many years Nell Fookes has made the regional tournament out of her career at Boone? Maybe also how many year's she's won the District Title?

Congratulations to the Lady Rebels, Coach Fookes and her staff. Came in as 4 seed and exit as District Champs. Good luck to both Ryle and Boone at Regionals.

 

Winning the District as a 4 seed is a great accomplishment. Can we say Fookes coach of the year? Just asking the question.

Is this a serious question? Nell is a legend, yes. Great career and all that, but this 4 seed winning the Districts came down to getting by Conner. It was a great upset, but Conner having some issues coming down the final stretch of season. Then Boone beat the 2nd seed Ryle which finished considerably below 500. Great tourney for Boone, for sure, but looking at the season I don't see coach of the year. Now if she could coach her way to state, that would be another story. :thumb:

 

Boone has some nice players. Love watching Jones play her game, but Switzer was the BIG difference for Boone last night. She seems to play up for the big games.

No stand outs for coach of year at this point. Several over-achieving teams this year, but they couldn't finish in districts. I think Highlands coach has done a pretty nice job with her young team and NDA's talented team is obviously well coached. I would guess that this is one of the years when the winner of regionals ends up as COY.

 

Certainly end of year performance is a big factor in player/coach of year consideration. So, let's see what happens at BOK.

What a great game! Got the blood pumping...I thought both teams gave it their all. Good luck going to the Region!
