2012-13 WKY Regional Basketball Pick-em Contest Results (Week 10)

Recommended Posts

Here are the results for this week's Western Kentucky regional basketball contest sponsored by J&J Sports. As always, the results won't be final for 24 hours. All contestants should use that time to check their score for errors. After that time period has passed, the contest is final and the winner should use the following link to claim the prize of choice. If you think your score is incorrect, please send me a PM and I will look into your claim.

Congratulations to Rez our winner with 18 points! Tiebreakers were necessary since insanity reigned and everyone got perfect scores this week. It came down to the second tiebreaker of time, with Rez posting the first entry in the thread with the highest point total tiebreaker as well. Click below to claim your prize.

First, I'm 99% certain you all are messing with me somehow. I can't begin to wrap my head around the idea that everyone picked the same winners and that every one of those teams won. It's not even like they were all lopsided blowouts. Except for Henderson/Owensboro, each game was decided by 6 points or less with three of them decided by 4 or less. This is like seeing a double rainbow, NAY, a triple rainbow.

Congratulations to our co-winners for overall prize, mcpapa & Randy Parker! It was a tight race with them and NEERFAN, and it came down to the last week. As you'll recall from the contest thread, the prizes are spelled out as follows:

The overall winner will receive $75, the runner-up will receive $25, and the third place finisher will receive $10.

As the top two finishers tied, they will split the combined two top prizes and receive $50 each. The third place finisher NEERFAN will receive $10.

Hope everyone had a blast! We'll be compiling the combined region results and will be getting up the postseason contests with region winners and wildcards soon!

A couple of notes:

-19 members submitted at least one contest entry.

-7 members competed every week. All five of the top 5 entries were by members that played each week.

-The highest finisher that missed a week was Big Slick, who missed week 9 and finished 6th overall.

-The highest average score by a member that entered more than 1 week was 15.50 by Hickory, who entered twice.

-The Professor had the highest average score by a member that entered at least half the contests, posting 13.67 per week in 6 weeks.

-The most entries came in week 2 with 14 entries. The average score that week was 7.14, second lowest this year.

-The highest average score for a week was (duh) week 10 when clearly everyone cheated in posting all perfect scores.

-The average score for a contest entry was 11.75 out of 120 total entries submitted.

-There were 21 perfect scores. 12 of those came in the final week. All of them came in the last 4 weeks.

-No one posted a score of zero for a week. There were three scores of 1, all of which came in week 5, which had the lowest weekly average for the year.
