The Breds escape with a victory to end a 5 game losing streak. It was the tale of two halves last night. The Breds looked like "world beaters" in the 1st, racing to a 15 point halftime advantage. The 2nd was not pretty at all, in the words of many it was ugly. However the Breds do manage to fight off a couple of nice runs from the Raiders to claim victory.

Tip of the cap goes out to Ryle Coach Patti Oliverio and NewCath Coach George Stoll. Before the game there was an arangement made between the two that was simply a nice gesture. NewCath senior, Jillian Hoover, who has been out all year with a knee injury and as not dressed all year, dressed and was in the starting line-up. Ryle gets the opening tip an gets an uncontested lay-up, the Breds inbound the ball an pass to a wide open Hoover under the Breds basket for the bucket. Timeout was called and Hoover made her way to the bench being able to score 1 bucket in her final year. The sequence took a toal of 15 seconds and the resumed as normal.

Did they trade layups or give ncc two free points? I read it as back to back free layups

I had to re-read it a couple times to see that they traded free bunnies.

My first reaction was WOW! loss by 2 pts. Somebody might have been called to the carpet.

No harm, no foul. Of course as long as Ryle didnt need another 7.5 seconds to tie the game at the end...LOL

Who is this Huber girl anyway? I thought she is healthy and a starter?

Its Jill Hoover. She would have been a senior starter but tore her acl during soccer.
