George Rogers Clark/Mason County predictions 2/1

These two perennial powers/rivals are both having down years (by their standards), but will do battle in Maysville on Friday. Both squads have struggled in the "Wins" department of late, the Cards having lost 6 of their last 7 & the Royals having lost 3 of 4. Both teams have been bitten by the injury bug, but both also boast outstanding junior post players in Shawn Johnson (Mason County) & Khmarkis Blanton (GRC). The former is averaging a double-double this year & the latter has averaged 26 points & 14.5 rebounds per game in his last two outings.

 

Who comes out on top & why?

I would love to see the Cards get the upset. GRC has got to get more production in the 3rd Q . Been one of our downfalls most of the season. Coach was saying on his post game show that Roberts was done for the year and is supposed to have surgery soon. The Cards will play with lots of guts and heart. Will that be enough to pull the upset?
