Theoldguy Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Nick Ruthsatz joined the exclusive 1000 point club tonight in Covington Catholic 77-62 victory over Ryle when he scored a two point basket early in the 3rd quarter. Ruthsatz went on to score a team high 21 points in leading his Colonels to a 19-4 record. Ruthsatz has done this feat in just two years and has a very good chance to break the all time point record held by Andy Listerman who netted a total of 1730 points in 128 games for a 13.5 average from 1991-94 seasons. Below is a listing of those individuals who are members of the 1000 point club of Covington Catholic Player Points Games Avg. MentschTrachtGottLacht Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 You may have mentioned this and I missed it, but how many games did it take Nick? 60ish? Very impressive.

Big Fundamental Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Congrats to the kid! A nice feat at CCH. Do you think he will end up being a low D1 caliber talent? Or, D2?
kyvince Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 If my math (off the top of my head) is correct that puts him at approx 18 per game (actually slightly more). If CovCath plays 8 more games this year and 31 games next year and Nick maitains that average he's going to be within range of the record. Obviously a whole lot of if's there but still pretty impressive that he has a chance to get to that level in 3 years. If CovCath wins the region one of those years, you can add a few more games to that list and it becomes a real possibility.
