Huge district win for the Cards.

unoffical stats of what I could get

GRC

M. Isreal 16

Roberts 9

Blanton 7

Warner 1

King 2

Corlnius 6

Caudill 10

BC

Snopp Johnson 24

Mullins 5

Gillespie 16

Any idea on rebounds for Blanton?

Good to see Gillespie with 16. Bourbon County needs him.

I would say Blanton had 10+ rebounds. He is GRC's work horse.

So good to see Roberts back on the hardwook. He played limited minutes but still had 9 points and 2 3's.

Roberts is back and will be a HUGE plus for GRC. Will be great too see when he gets into game groove. Things are looking much better for the Cards!

GRC is deceiving. Not a lot of true size but their bigs are thick and get the job done. Congrats on the win.

Nice district win for GRC.

[h=1]Clark earns season sweep of Bourbon County[/h]

“It was like pulling teeth for three quarters,” Humphrey said. “We just really struggled and to be honest, we didn’t have anybody who could guard Snoop (Johnson). He did whatever he wanted, anywhere he wanted, everywhere on the court he wanted. We had to gimmick (our defense) in the fourth quarter to get it out of his hands.”

The Colonels (3-9) stretched the margin to six at 41-35 to open the second half, but Clark remained within striking distance and grabbed the lead for good on the trey by Roberts with 2:23 remaining. The Cards outscored the Colonels 10-4 following the three by Roberts for the final margin.

“I felt like down the stretch, we made some toughness plays and hit our free throws,” Humphrey said. “The last three minutes were the best three or four minutes of the game.”

Aside from the brief spurt in the fourth quarter, Humphrey wasn’t pleased with his team’s overall performance.

“I don’t want to take anything away from Bourbon, but I thought they outplayed us for 29 of the (32) minutes and we were just lucky to get the win,” Humphrey said. “I felt like we improved over the holiday break and we practiced well over the last couple of days, but tonight, it was the combination of us not being able to guard Snoop and it was painful on the offensive end.”

Malachi Israel led the Cards with 16 points, scoring nine of those in the first half. Israel made six-of-seven shots from the free-throw line. Riley Caudill made two three-pointers and followed with 10 points, while Roberts and Luke Sharrock just missed double figures with nine points apiece.

Next game: Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Madison Southern.
