Let's start off by saying that the rankings on my posts are my opinion and my opinion only. They are set to bring on discussion and apparently it worked. I brought the rankings up first this week and I'll discuss my views on them with each school below.

The Collins Titans were off last week. No movement there.

 

The Owen County Rebels went to the Mountain Schoolboy Tournament at Belfry and swept three from Cordia, Pike County Central & Gass, GA. The Rebels are playing very good ball right now and it seems that most all players are now back from injury. Jarrod Ball continues to play a bench roll for the Rebels. Owen County next has a district game against Henry County before a matchup with Grant County.

 

South Oldham last week swept the Henry County Invitational in New Castle with wins against Atherton, J-Town and rival North Oldham. The Dragons have mostly a region opponent schedule the rest of the way this year with a few non-region games mixed in.

 

Simon Kenton was at the Republic Bank Classic @ Lexington Catholic this past week. The Pioneers went 2-1 with wins against Johnson Central and Perry County Central. The lone loss against Knott County Central. Riley Barnes appears to be in good form. 22 points in the overtime win against Perry County Central. The Pioneers have a district matchup with Walton-Verona before hosting county rival Scott.

 

Anderson County won the Bracken County Invitational in convincing fashion with 3 wins over Beechwood, Deming & Host Bracken County. Margin of victory in the 3 games was a 30 point average. Christian Estes with 15 and Ross Cox with 13 in the Bracken County game. The Bearcats will matchup against Collins in the first game of the new year.

 

Gallatin County went on the road after Christmas to Webster County and was runner-up in the Webster County Holiday Classic. The Wildcats went 3-1 with wins over Hopkins County Central, Webster County & Louisville Holy Cross before falling to Lyon County in the championship game. The Wildcats jump back into 31st District play this week before the All "A" Tournament.

 

The Oldham County Colonels went 2-2 at the Republic Bank Classic last week. The Colonels fell in the first two games to Bishop Brossart from the 10th Region and Dixie Heights from the 9th Region before getting wins against Cincinnati Princeton and Somerset Prep, FL. Big district matchup with South Oldham on Friday this week.

 

The Grant County Braves went 2-1 at the Shirley Kearns Invitational this past week with wins against Whitefield Academy and Berea after losing the first game to Woodford County. Junior Tyler Carr scored his 1,000th point against Berea last week. Congrats to Tyler on the accomplishment. The Braves have a 32nd district matchup against Walton-Verona on Saturday night.

 

Spencer County went 1-2 at the Pikeville Invitational last week. The Bears won the first game against host Pikeville, but fell to Louisville Collegiate and Breathitt County. Spencer County is on the road this week against DeSales and Adair County.

 

The Carroll County Panthers went 1-2 at the National Guard Holiday Classic @ LaRue County last week. A first game win against Crittenden County before losses to LaRue County and DeSales. The Panthers are back to 31st District games this week against Henry County and Gallatin County.

 

The Trimble County Raiders are riding a 6 game winning streak after winning the Silver Grove Coaches vs. Cancer tournament over the weekend. The Raiders haven't seen a streak of this size since at least the 2000-01 season. Dusty Wyssbrod scored a career high 30 points against host Silver Grove and then the game winning free throws in OT against Hancock County. The Raiders have 3 at home this week. 2 NCKC Conference games with Walton-Verona and and Williamstown before North Bullitt comes into Bedford. (On a side note, we want to wish True Blue and Gold all the best in her recovery. We're praying for you!! :thumb:)

 

Don't know the details on the Eminence Warriors trip to the Edmondson State Bank Holiday Classic @ Metcalf County other than they went 1-1 before what looks like 2 forfeits. Anyone that can shed more light, please do. The Warriors won against Metcalf County and then fell to Greenwood. Eminence has Evangel Christian this week before 31st district play resumes.

 

The North Oldham Mustangs went 2-1 at the Henry County Invitational with wins over Tates Creek and host Henry County before falling to South Oldham in the championship game. The Mustangs will spend the week on the road with games @ Iroquois, 9th Region Ryle and Spencer County.

 

The Walton-Verona Bearcats had the week off. They travel to Trimble County before getting back into 32nd District play with Simon Kenton and Grant County.

 

The Henry County Wildcats hosted the Henry County Invitational last week and went 1-2. They won the first game against Frankfort before falling to North Oldham and J-Town. The Wildcats next three games are 31st District and NCKC Conference matchups with Eminence, Owen County and Carroll County.

 

The Shelby County Rockets also went 1-2 on the road at the Campbellsville University Holiday Classic. The Rockets fell to Marion County and Mason County before getting a win against Campbellsville. This week, the Rockets have Beth Haven, Iroquois and Thomas Nelson.

 

The Williamstown Demons went 1-1 at the Silver Grove Coaches vs. Cancer tournament over the weekend. A loss to Hancock County before getting a win against Dayton. Their game against Reidland was cancelled due to weather. The Demons have an NCKC matchup against Trimble County on the road before hosting Villa Madonna.
