If a defender recovers a fumble and his foot is OOB he does not gain possession. In this case the kicking team is penalized for not kicking the ball OOB? That is strange but apparently Cobb took full advantage of the rule.

 

No but the ball is immediately ruled OOB when the player touches it.

 

It just doesn't seem strange to me. The rule makes sense.

I really enjoy watching Randall Cobb. Glad he is making a great name for himself in the NFL.
