Game #1 of the Edwardo's Christmas Classic. Covington Latin builds a 15 point Halftime lead and holds on for the win. Lady Trojans led in scoring by two nice players, Bridgette Hildreth (21) and Anna Matchinga (18). Jordan Doram leads all scorers with 27, 19 coming in the 2nd half.

 

Both teams will face Pendleton County and Grant County tomorrow in the round robin format.

The Williamstown game was the first one of the season for Latin, and they were very much out of sync. They are making progress though.

Matchinga made another of her buzzer beater threes at the end of the third quarter, that added a lift for Latin, going into the fourth quarter.

I got the pleasure to see Latin play all 3 games this weekend. Matchinga is a nice player: good stroke from the outside and very smart with the basketball. Very few turnovers.

What did you expect!!! They don't have any dummies there! Just kidding with ya! Glad to see them doing well. Did Maria Cuthrell play much? How is she doing. She is one of my favorites!

LOL I expected that response. Cuthrell didn't do anything that sticks out to me, just played 3 pretty clean games of basketball. Matchinga and Hildreth did most of the scoring.
