Nice team win for Birds. Witte and True hit a couple big Fts in the final 30 seconds.

Congrats to Highlands!

Good job Birds!

A lot of kids saw minutes in this one for the Birds by the way. Congrats to Jr Ryan Green in his first start scoring 6 pts and a couple huge 2nd half buckets. Brockett had a nice 3 off bench and Weyer also played solid. Coach Flynn is using these games obviously to get the youbgns experience.

Witte had a very solid all around game. I believe he had 6 assists, 5-6 rebounds and 2 huge steals that led to fastbreak points in a crucial run that put Highlands up by 9 late and forced a Frankfort timeout.

HIGHLANDS 59, FRANKFORT 52 – Junior center Nick True and senior forward Bailey Witte finished with 14 points each to pace the Bluebirds at the Woodford County Invitational.

Witte scored nine in the fourth quarter to help Highlands pull away, and True tallied six in the first and fourth periods.

The Bluebirds will play Lexington Paul Dunbar in the fifth-place game at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
