Dixie Heights posted their fifth-straight win in overtime behind a stellar 31-point night by Brandon Hatton, 64-59 over Franklin County on Friday.

 

The junior, who scored Dixie’s last six points from the free throw line, is now just 49 points from tying the Colonels’ career scoring record of 1,880 points.

 

The Flyers forced overtime with a long three-pointer from Rylan Rowe with :05 remaining in regulation, but faded in the extra period.

 

Rower finished with 20 points on the night, while Lorenzo McCaskell poured in 24 to lead Franklin.

Brian Thornton from Winthrop was on hand to watch Hatton.

Dixie seems to consistently play up, or down to their competition because of their youth... but they always play gritty.

Hatton is a load, strong and certainly skilled with the 3 ball. Franklin county will get much better. Team chemisitry is not there yet , lots of young talent .

He played in the past for Franklin Co. Very fast. Top 10ish player in the 11th region.

I hear Timmons will be back, he is letting his body heal from the football season. The only thing that might keep him from playing is if the college that he signs with is strongly opposed to him playing basketball, but the way i look at it you can get hurt walking out the front door in the morning. i expect the results of this game would have been different had Timmons played. Doubt Dixie could have handled his speed.
