Good win for the Owls. Looking forward to seeing them next month!

Professor, was you at the game?

Yes, I was there. Close game throughout. In the closing seconds the Owls had a chance to get some breathing room with 2 free throws, which would have given them a 4 point lead. But they only hit one of them, which gave them a 3 point lead. Lee quickly brought the ball down court and Evans hit a 3 from the corner to tie the game at 72-72. Owsley had about 8 seconds to do something and their center, Isaiah Allen, rebounded a missed shot, didn't make the rebound shot, rebounded his own miss, and made the winning shot just before the horn sounded.

Goldie, there was a good crowd due to Lee County having Homecoming. Plus, the Owsley-Lee girls varsities also played. But it wasn't packed like it was back in the 1980's and 1990's. Back in those days you couldn't wedge fans into the gym with a shoe horn when these 2 rivals played. People just don't get out and watch high school games as much as they used to. I guess there's too many other choices with 100's of TV stations and other things to do.

My nephew was crowned Homecoming King. That is Blanches son. Agree on the attendance of games now. Back in the 60'70's gyms would be packed on a Friday night.
