Birds Celebrate 6th State Championship - Nice article

Featured Replies

I'm glad to see that even though they are expected to win state championships on an annual basis, and are successful at doing just that, that the accomplishment hasn't become blasse. Even after winning 47-0 over an inferior foe, the Bluebirds are obviously thrilled with their accomplishment and revel in the moment.

Perhaps it is because they work so hard to achieve the prize, or perhaps it is the satisfaction of knowing that they have carried the torch, and that the string of successes wasn't broken on their watch, but by looking at the pictures it is hard to tell whether that was thier first ever state championship, or their 22nd. That's a good thing.

Congratulations, Birds!!! I have an old saying that has stuck with me over the years and applies here - "A few weeks (months) hard work, and a lifetime to remember!!!" Remember it well.

Talked to a parent last night of a Sr and he said that even though he knew they were the heavily favored team driving to Bowling Green was nerveracking. Nobody wants to be the team that breaks the streak, especially Seniors.

I know it will happen one day but still a lot of pressure there.

The operative word !!!

From my experience and observations, the senior parents feel more pressure than the players do.
