Highlands 36 Lloyd 21 (Frosh)

Featured Replies

Highlands played their first frosh game last night in Erlanger. Nice start to the season and first win for coach Beau Menefee at HHS. Baby Birds were able to get all 10 players into the game which is always a good thing. Nick Kendall scored the first 8 points of the contest and finished with 11. Nice game by Austin Hergott who scored in double figures and was strong on the boards. All in all a good effort at both ends of the floor considering it was game one of the season.

Is Austin Hergott playing with the freshman? I noticed him dressing up some last year, but didn't know if that meant anything. Big body, great kid.

He played freshman last night and did play a little last year as an 8th grader when the numbers became so low that they needed bodies just to be able to practice. Believe that is where he has been practicing since football got over. He did not participate in either of the JV/Varsity scrimmages that were held the last two weekends. Looked solid last night and hopefully he can continue to develop.

Good for him and even better for Beau!

Assuming that Daugherty sat this one out with the ankle injury?

That would be correct and Hebel did not play either as he is still toiling on the football field. Both should be ready to go on Monday against the Beechies.
