One of the great tragedies of scheduling in the Seventh Region this year is that this is the first game of the season for these two teams. I don't believe any of Central's top players are involved with the football team, but even if both teams are at full strength, November basketball is a tricky proposition for predicting future success.

At any rate, this should be an outstanding matchup between two teams that ought to be among the five best in the region and feature two of its best players: St. Xavier's 6'9" forward Brock Kiesler and Central forward Stuart Jackson.

This is a rematch of a regional semifinal won by St. Xavier 70-59. St. Xavier is the on-paper pick to win this one, but if the shots are falling for Central's Domonique Chandler and the Central forwards can prevent Kiesler from owning the boards, then it could be a tight game.

This is a very interesting game. I think it will be broadcast on St. X radio.

I'm really hoping Jason Frakes is covering this one for the C-J so I can keep up with it. Barring that, does anyone know of a good X or Central Twitter feed I can use to keep up with this one as it goes along?

I'm not sure if they will be at the game, but @LouisvilleCatholicSports does a good job of covering games on Twitter.

Last year these were both tight games with the teams splitting the games. I think it will be another close game....but I'll go with Central because of the court advantage.

Will Charles Walker play for X tonight?
