Who should be NKY Girls Soccer coach of the Year

Featured Replies

Brad Gough of Brossart High School Should be NKY coach of the year IMO. The year that Brossart had as a team and the style of play he has them playing is what good coaches do. They only gave up 14 goals for the year and 9 in the last 18 games. I have not seen a team this year except NDA last night pass and control the ball like BBHS has this year. I have seen girls that were good players turn into all Region players with his coaching and training. He is also doing this at one of the smallest high schools in the region so winning a regional title is even more special.

I would like to hear others argument for others (NCC, Campbell who both had good years?)

Thanks

No real argument here. Any of the three could get it but I think you should give it to Coach Gough since they were regional champs. Each team has there own reasons for their coach being Coach of the Year but your points are correct and he should receive it. Kind of sad that the soccer forum will be dry for several months since the season has come to an end.

McSorley from NDA / big school "Coach of the year"

Lost 7 senior starters after winning the State Championship and still wins the Region and are ranked #1 in the State.

Gough from Brossart / small school "Coach of the year"

Had a great season, play very good soccer and won their Region.

Brossart coach gets my vote because he had the girls playing a good style of soccer and coached up the players to a new level. I think the fact that they won the region while might seem a big deal, quite honestly with the formation of the new regions that probably will be the norm in the future because of a lack of quality competition in the tenth.
