Homeland (Season 2)

Like others, I'm very curious how they run with season 3.

Regardless, if Mandy Patinkin is in it, I'm good.

After last night's episode, I honestly hope they kill Brody. He has ran his course for me.

I'm getting an uneasy feeling that the writers are a lot more interested in the "forbidden romance" than I am.

I'm very worried that next year is going to be Brody/Carrie dodging the CIA.

OK, I have to say after reading that it's totally plausible.

I actually thought that might be possible before reading that article.

This storyline has taken a turn for the worse IMO. I'm not a fan of the direction they're going and it all started when Nazir came to the United States.

Not going to say I loved the finale.

Me either. They didn't completely fall over but they didn't "stick" the landing either.

On the other hand, Mandy Patinkin should get an Emmy, Oscar, Grammy and any other major award for his performance. Loved every minute he was on screen in the finale...

Not a big fan of the finale either. Saul was outstanding. Carrie seemed way to easilly convinced. She and Saul and a few others know the vid of Broady pre-dates what happened. Still have lingering doubts about Broady's innocence.

I actually am starting to think the finale helped the story become a little (just a little) more realistic. It makes more sense as to why Nazir was in the US now...to be a distraction.

However the fact that someone loaded that much explosives into Brody's car and it went undetected is silly. Wouldn't they have security with bomb dogs at an event that several high profile politicians will be at?

The finale definitely helped with some of the weird things that happened up to that point. Including Nazir being in the U.S.

I will say, when the bomb went off I was REALLY hoping that the theory I posted above was about to come true.

I'm warming up the the finale a little as it really did help to make sense of some of the earlier episodes. Can't wait to watch it again just to see that fantastic smile from Mandy Patinkin to end the episode. The BIG issue I have is it FURTHER explored and left open the possibility that the Carrie-Brody love story (which I frankly don't give a damn about) will continue.

I do believe that Brody was playing Carrie all along. He certainly seemed to be getting his affairs in order.

Another disappointment is that I feel we will see Morena Baccarin (and her "assets") with either no role or a very diminished one going forward.

I hope this is true and she finds out in episode 1. Leading to them killing off Brody and moving on with the amazing show season 1 was. Damian Lewis has done a phenomenal job as Brody but honestly the show has outgrown his role. The reason Breaking Bad is the best show on TV is that when the time is right it gets rid of the characters the show has outgrown -- no matter how amazing and well-liked those characters are...

I agree. Don't watch Breaking Bad but I do watch Game of Thrones and one of the things that makes that good (if you haven't read the books) is that no one seems to be safe.
