Alumni Football League

The reasoning behind the 4 year out rule is to keep kids from coming in and playing who are actually playing in college. I guess that if you are not enrolled in school this would be okay.

The safety factor is this. If you are playing college ball for a school and come in for the weekend and play in this game, get injured, loose time at college and then loose an education, We as Alumni have done an injustice to you. Thats why the rule was made.

So I guess if you are not currently playing ball for someone that would be okay.

Which brings up a good topic, anyone who is interested in this please get started:

1. Players must grads of your school.

2. Can not be currently playing for an Educational Institution.

3. Must have the capability to sign a release for injury/death expectation.

(can not hold the school liable for getting hurt)

4. Can not be a current professional athlete. It would be cool to play against Shawn Alexander, but not for us OLD TIMERS. Special appearances would be okay.

5. Referees will be high school refs.

I respect you BZ and thanks for your opinion, it may spark someone else to respond.

Now your thoughts and opinions I can accept. I certainly may not agree and obviously in this matter we don't but at least your rational and not looking to just attack everyone who doesn't agree with you. As for others, well maybe one too many hits to the head reduces ones brain to mush or in some cases Sand.. :walk:

Sorry if I seem as though you've struck a nerve, I just find it comical that you can be so opinionated on a subject you know next to nothing about. I know you don't bowl now, so I would guess your just irratible waiting for spring and golf. You would do well in politics me thinks.

BTW- I just got back from Orlando, played the Palm. It was very nice.

O.K. whatever, lets move on..Orlando sounds pretty nice about now. Hope you enjoyed your trip. :thumb:

:thumb: I think your idea is a GREAT idea. I know Im from Northern Kentucky in Ludlow and I have always talked to all my friends and we all have wanted another chance to play again and definitely would do this. I know we play all the time I on the weekends but it still not the same as actually playing with pads.

I think we should change the requirements to only having to be 2 years out of high school because right now I only have been out of high school for 2 years so I wouldn't want to have to wait 2 more years lol. I know I have alot of friends who I played football with in high school who also would love to play again to. So you could count me in in wanting to try to get an alumni league together, plus also alot of my other friends would like to too.

If the trip to Louisville is not TOO long you should look into playing a full season with an amateur (minor-professional) team. 12+ games per season.

If interested PM me and I can forward details. Very competitive at this level, played against a lot of recognizable college players from Michigan, Michigan State, Bowling Green, Toledo, Ball Sate, and other schools in the Mid East/ Mid West region. Small college atmosphere and level on the field.

:thumb: Funny you should say that because it is a very strong possiblity believe it or not. I'm sure I can count you as one of my supporters, correct? :sssh:

okay the latest contact is Russell, Ashland and now Fairview are intersted in playing an Alumni Game. Certain contacts have been made off this board and now we are looking up.

Also to Gr8bigbull-

Thanks for the info, I will look at it when i am not at work, This is the league that the Titans owner was going to look at moving to last year before the team folded this spring. The owner got a coaching job at a small college and now the Titans are no more. Huntington, Wv has a new indoor team- Huntington Heroes. Look pretty good but not full field players.

Thanks again guys for the response and hope to fill you guys in on an update.

BZ have fun golfing man, theirs money in it and you dont have to worry about cheapshots, unless you are playing golf with my Dad.

Thanks
