Warren Central 34 Ballard 17

Central looked like they were the ones with the long bus ride early on as Ballard came out and rolled offensively. They jumped out to a 10-7 lead and extended it to 17-7 after a blocked punt was picked out of the air and returned 30-40 yards for the TD. But that was about it for the Bruins as they did not seriously threaten to score again until deep into the 4th Quarter. In the meantime the Dragons drew within 17-14 at halftime and used a flurry of plays to take control of the game. First it was a 55 yard pick six by Rondell Green to put WC up 20-17. Then it was a muffed kickoff by Ballard that led to a 1 yard TD run by Kenin Reed to make it 27-17. The Dragons tacked on a 46 yard TD run by Rondell Green with 10 minutes left in the game and that was all she wrote.

Strong response by the Dragons to a poor start and they kept their win streak alive going into the biggest game of the year in 2 weeks - the first of what I expect will be two matchups with Bowling Green. Central has now won 28 of their last 29 games that weren't against Bowling Green (2-2) or Christian County (1-3) dating back to late 2009.
