When does track season start?

I don't know the actual date. Indoor track is typically a winter sport and culminates in the Mason-Dixon games (state indoor championship meet) somewhere around the first Saturday in March.

Outdoor track meets begin soon afterwards; middle of March maybe.

Track is still "officially" classified as one sport ... the breakdown that mcpapa has provided is correct (but ... the season officially begins during the first week in December through the state championship ... which is going to be the 3rd weekend in May--those dates are already on the KHSAA site).

The first practice date is usually the first week in December.

We will most likely start towards the beginning of January ... with our first meet during the last week of January or the first week in February.

^ Maybe I will run into you at one of the Mason County indoor meets. While I'm not affiliated with the team, I do get over there once or twice each winter season.
