Brossart gets the Campbell County monkey off their backs with a 5-1 win over the Camels in the 37th District Semi-Finals at Scott High School on Tuesday night.

The Mustangs will take on Scott in the 37th District Finals on Wednesday at 5pm at Scott H.S..

Zach Fardo went 6 2/3 innings for Brossart before being lifted for sophomore Connor Verst after allowing three consecutive hits and a walk, bringing to the plate the potential tying run. Verst whiffed the only batter he faced to end the Campbell County threat.

 

Jared White started for Campbell County and pitched four complete innings allowing 4 runs on 5 hits while walking none and striking out four. Rob Franzen came on in relief and finished out the game for the Camels allowing one additional run.

Fardo went 6 2/3rds allowing 1 run on 9 hits, walking 5 and striking out 6.

The Camels close out their season at 12-20. Brossart advances to the 37th District finals and next week's 10th Regional Tournament with a 21-12 mark.

 

Brossart had eight different players contribute base hits. Trevor Bezold led the Stangs going 2-3.
