This game was pretty predictable from the get go. Somewhere around a twenty point win for the Indians was just about what everyone expected.

I wouldnt be at all surprised if the rest of the games from here on in this tourny arent very close starting tomm nite. :thumb:

I left with about a minute to go in the first quarter; Montgomery County was leading at that time 19-3. St. pat must have played better the rest of the way to keep it a 20 point game. Montgomery will give Mason a decent game tomorrow night if the Royals can't solve their shooting woes.

St Pat actually cut it to 8 in the third but were playing up hill all night long and ran out of gas.

 

Montgomery shot the ball extremely well as they hit 24/40 for 60% on the game.

St Patrick played hard but what is the fashion statement about head bands everywhere wrist bands ,and the Iverson arm sleeve ,it just does not go along with the conservetive nature of the school. That much individualism is not good for the team concept.

I was thinking the same thing; they've got long socks, short socks, black socks, white socks, arm bands, wrist bands, head bands, arm sleeves. I guess I'm too old school, but they didn't look like a "team". Evidently they started playing like a team after I left.

 

I don't think the school is as conservative as folks think - not since the nuns left. Take a look at the St. Pat cheering section with the barefoot girls in their camo tops and cheerleading skirts; not exactly a bastion of conservatism at first glance. Not that they don't look and act like any other student cheering section - I just don't think the school is as "straight-laced" as it was 30 or 40 years ago.

 

On another note, does anyone know anything about Montgomery County's starting center? I didn't catch the name; he was introduced as a 6'7 sophomore; Rison pulled him real early after getting one foul called and close to another, but put him back in towards the end of the 1st quarter. What's the scoop? He seems rough and raw right now (from what very little I saw); was putting on a dunk-fest in warmups. How has the kid been playing and what is his upside?

I think at St. Pat basketball is more for fun now and about everyone getting to play and if they win or, are even competitive it keeps the parents and alumni happy.
