LCA scores three runs in the top of the first, two coming on a bases-loaded single with two outs by designated hitter Clay Mossbarger on a 2-2 pitch. That single came after Dallas Murphy had struck out swinging on a curve ball in the dirt that eventually bounced into the stands allowing Murphy to reach.

LCA now up 4-0 middle of second. Taylor Blair doubled to left with one out, went to third on a slow ground out up the first base line and then scored on a wild pitch by Blake Tiberi.

Holy Cross cuts it to 4-1 with a run in the bottom of the second. Jake Burger drew a one out walk, went to second on a passed ball and scored on Rick Pangallo's double to right center. The Indians left two on with two out in the inning.

LCA scores three more runs in the top of the third. Mossbarger singled in one run, pitcher Lincoln Henzman drove in another with a single and Taylor Blair drove in the third with a sac fly.

Holy Cross did get a run back in the bottom of the third when Conner Callery led off with a bloop double, went to third on a passed ball and scored on Justin Kohake's single to left.

End of three: LCA leads 7-2.

Holy Cross scores once inthe bottom of the fourth when Jeff Guidugli singled home Ricky Pangallo, who had led off with a double.

Top of 5th: LCA leads 14-3.

There is and LCA scored two more in the top of the fifth, then held Holy Cross scoreless in the bottom for a 16-3 final.

The schedule showed the LCA vs HC game was to be played on Saturday!

 

Huge advantage for LCA to be able to spend the night not driving home an hour away, then driving back to Lexington or sleeping in a strange hotel room!

LCA beat 2-1 and lost to LexCath 3-0 and I know, LexCath is very, very good!

That is what I figured. I know LCA struggled last year in baseball but they have fielded some very good teams in the past. They've won the state championship at least once, haven't they?

LCA won it all in 2005.

LCA is a very good team, there big problem is the district they play in, they finished 5th in the 43rd district this year.
