Disaster in Union tonight, as the Breds defense commits 10 errors, YES I SAID 10, and fall 6-4. 3 throwing errors, 1 dropped foulball, & 6 fielding errors. NewCath 1st baseman Sr. Rachel Hardesty goes 3-3 with a sac-fly and drives in 3 and Sr. centerfielder Paige Immegart drives in the other. The Breds score 1 in the 1st on an error and sac fly. Cooper threatens in the 1st, with one out Taylor Burkart surrenders a triple to Cooper centerfielder E. Smith down the rightfield line, but gets two fly outs to end the inning. Cooper plates a lone run in the bottom of the 2nd via a leadoff walk and 3 errors. The Breds score a run in the 3rd on a Immegart single.

Cooper threatens again in the 3rd after another leadoff walk and a single, Cooper catcher J. Koors hits a smash to right that is snagged on the run by Sr. Meghan Millard who fires to 1st and then 1st baseman Rachel Hardesty fires onto Michaela Ware at 2nd to pulloff a TRIPLE PLAY. Cooper takes the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the 4th scoring 3 times on only 2 hits, but 2 more errors. Freshman Sarah Neace comes in for the Breds in the 5th and Cooper scores 1 each in the 5th & 6th innings on 3 hits and 4 more Breds errors and lead 6-2.

The Breds start the 7th with 3 straight hits by Millard, Fr. Casey Kohls, and a 2 rbi single by Hardesty, however a groundout, K, & pop-out end the game. The rollercoaster that is Breds defense, or lack there off, continues.

Kudos to your pitcher for only giving up 6 runs with all those errors.

Are all those legit errors? Any even questionable? Sounds like NewCath is almost as bad defensively as Brossart is, according to all the errors these two teams make.

Same score keeping school!!! You didn't know bgh holds training classes when he is ejected from his games.

From what I am hearing, YES there are legit!! Yes NCC is a young team, but it is a combination of both young and old making the mistakes. I have only seen NCC play a few times, but if you want my honest opinion this team needs to come together. At one game I sat and listened to parents doing nothing but complain about the players. Then upon leaving the game the parents then would complain to their children about other players as they left the game, not a good way to build team chemistry.

My adivce is the following: Parents; be careful what you say and when you say it, especially around your children. Players; forget what you hear at the dinner table and just play the game and support your teammates!! Respect the game and your teammates and the game will become fun again. This could go on and on, but it is very simple.... when players are having fun, not worrying about whom they like or don't like this is a much easier game to play and the mistakes will lessen, but if the drama continues the troubles just will become larger. Parents, support your coaches... as the old saying goes "if you can't say anything good then why say anything at all".

Maybe this approach may help with some of the error issues.

Nice recap....joining the old guy in the baseball threads for the most detailed game descriptors!!

 Now that's funny.

3 at 3rd between the "wickets" and another just booted. 2 at 1st, dropped foulball & other a dropped catch. 1 in leftfield through the "wickets" again. 2 in center, booted the ball allowing runners to advance and one to score and the other on an over throw to 2nd that would have recorded a double play. Last but not least in right another overthrow that allowed runner to advance. I think that about sums it up.

I can deal with errors that are made when kids HUSTLE, but mental mistakes.........:madman:

Same score keeping school!!! You didn't know bgh holds training classes when he is ejected from his games.

Alright there Mr. Speeling Bee Champ, I'll see you later on today to discuss this. By the way, I'm still waiting on my large Jamocha shake after the Breds 1st victory over your Birds.

Didn't the Breds just beat the Birds again recently? If so that should be 2 shakes.
