Not sure about softball, but correct me if I am wrong, I heard NCC tried to schedule Highlands for this coming football season and Highlands said no.

What i heard was that they wanted to play in the cross town shootout but we had that week filled already with a team that would do a 2 year deal. NCC only wanted to play a year contract and with it being so hard for HHS to get teams to schedule we have to take the two year deals. We all wish it could happen but not in the cards this year,

There is no fear, NCC Softball is in there 6th year and has played Rlye at least 4 or 5 times.

Also they were district champions in 2007 2009 and 2010 not bad for a new program plus they were in the old District with Homes and Dixie in 2007.

Your knowledge of NewCath softball is pretty good old boy. I would say there is no fear also, the simple fact is that with the loss of Danielle Hausfeld the NewCath pitching staff has been reduced to 3 girls with near ZERO experience. Freshman Sarah Neace who has 1 year of pitching experience and is just now starting to take lessons, Sophomore Taylor Burkart, who is the starting pitcher now, who has taken ZERO lessons but has been practicing the craft since last August, and Senior Mehgan Millard who hasn't pitched since 8th grade, she throws harder than the other two but is not as accurate with the long layoff between having to pitching. Playing Ryle or Conner you need quality pitching, and sometimes that doesn't matter, and Newcath simply doesn't have it now. Are the Breds "ducking" Ryle & Conner this year????? You could say yes, but I think it has to do with the lack of experienced pitching. The good thing for the Breds program is they have 4 7th graders on the freshman team who are starting to take lessons and a 8th grader on the JV team who has some experience.

Shame on the coaches then for allowing tat to happen! You can't put all your eggs in one basket all the time. Maybe campbump was ought about the coaching at Bracken being better then at NCC.

I see on KHSAA NCC has Boone County on their schedule. Why Boone and not Ryle or Conner? Boone is just as good as both of them. Dixie, Bracken, Notre Dame and Cooper on the schedule too with Highlands, Brossart and St. Henry. All tough opponents. Why not play Ryle and Conner too, just schedule them later in the year? You have nothing to lose IMO.

Would agree to a point, however I'm not in charge of scheduling.

NCC was pretty solid at the other positions. An experienced pitcher would make all the difference. If these young girls get the pitching instruction, that will have a huge impact on their game as a squad. Good luck to NCC this season and seasons to come---I thought the coaching staff was classy and did a good job too. :thumb:

I agree ABC2 they had a pitcher ready but she quit the team so they had to go a different way. They will be fine by the end of the year.
