  1. Interviews done...decision looming. Anticipate this going to a first time head coach.
  2. Heard some interesting things about this position. Interviews will be starting very soon.
  3. Well science doesn't back that belief. ACL injury - Symptoms and causes - Mayo Clinic
  4. Haha. Feathers aren't ruffled and I'm happy for Allen. I was just reminded of it by this All-Kentucky team.
  5. Does it not bother anyone else that Mr. Basketball wasn't 1st team or Gatorade Player of the Year? I am not saying Allen wasn't a great player but he missed 1/2 of his senior year. He cannot be Mr. Basketball while missing that many crucial games. Maybe if it was at the beginning of the year and he led his team to a great postseason. Sorry, just my take on this.
  6. Here’s why it matters. Players found out who their coach was or that their coach was leaving or both from social media. It shouldn’t be done that way. Belcher or Ryle got it wrong on it getting out this way.
  7. Good in theory but I don't think you have followed Ryle sports long if you think the community just jumps in and supports basketball. Good luck to coach Belcher...I think he's going to need it. This isn't PC where he could have gone years without a winning season and they would've still backed him.
  8. What's this say when PC couldn't keep Belcher happy? Is he jumping off a sinking ship?
  9. It's hard for me to believe that they're going to hire someone before spring break. If it isn't a home-run hire, then don't make it. School is too big to settle. Find or pursue someone who will change your team not just someone who knows someone.
  10. JV Coach at Cooper, Schumate, and Belcher are the ones who have interviewed. Not saying that is bad pool just seems rather thin to me. I have calmed down from last night's frustration. There are two more head coaches in NKY that I know applied and will not get an interview who would have been more than qualified to take over the program. Since they did not interview, I will not name them.
  11. I have a couple people I would’ve liked to seen get it. I would’ve pursued Brannen at Walton, which I guess he wasn’t an option since he is “retired”. Snapp I saw mentioned on here would’ve been a great option. What about doing something different than the status quo. I have kids that will go to Ryle some day and it just would be nice to see a sign they’re changing.
  12. They lost to Paris Allen’s junior year. And what’s going to be different at Ryle? The difference is that the parents at Ryle aren’t going to be as forgiving if/when they miss out on winning districts. David went to 3 region tournaments in the last 6 years and that still put him on the hot seat.
  13. My last comment on this job as it just confuses me more and more how the biggesf school in the 9th can’t do things right (also see SK in the 8th). From the outside it looks as though. : 1) they don’t care about basketball or athletics in general. 2) keep parents happy and you keep your job, once they get upset it’s time to move on. 3) they make questionable hires left and right. Scott showed when it hired Fromeyer, you don’t have to be in the building or a teacher for that matter to be an effective coach.
