LAX- School Support
KyBigHorns replied to KyBigHorns's topic in KY Swimming, Track, Lacrosse, Golf (High School)
That surprises me, it's the fasted growing spot in the country at all levels. Participation at our school is growing by 20-25% per year. Colleges are adding programs across the country making scholarship & participation opportunities more available. The KHSAA & KY HS need to get on board. -
There are 32 high school lacrosse teams in the State of Kentucky. The KHSAA currently does not sanction lacrosse so it is technically not recognized as a "varsity" sport by KHSAA. (12)teams compete for a championship in the Louisville Area League (20)teams compete for a championship in the KLA league Does your school support your team? If so how? Do they provide/pay for coaches? field time? practice time? funding? equipment? Uniforms? Just curious- some schools seem to support the lax program as they would any other sports program ...others not so much. Where does your school stand?

Covington Catholic (3 seed)plays at Bryan Station (2 seed) Tuesday May 5th at 7:45pm in the first round of the KY2 North1 district play. NKY warriors are the 1 seed seed and will play the winner of Dixie(4 seed) vs Scott Co (5 seed) -
Scott Ruthsatz
KyBigHorns replied to MentschTrachtGottLacht's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Matt Otto will be a great heat coach at some point in his career. I just don't think he will stay at CCH long enough to get the job there. -
Here's my 2 pennies on the matter. If Ruthsatz would make the move to X, I do not see any current players jumping ship with him. Just don't see it, there is more to CCH than sports. Incoming kids maybe, as they would not necessarily have any ties to CCH. I also agree with Clyde: It is a burden for the majority of CCH parents to fund CCH's tuition can't see many wanting to add the additional expense to go to X. I think the assumption that Joe Fredrick would go with SR is a big stretch. Consider This: What if CCH joins the GCL? CCH Youth football program has already dumped NKY foot & is playing in the GCL. Would SR get the desired exposure everyone speaks of? Would that allow CCH to draw in more Cincinnati kids? Would that help to elevate the CCH program to Dynasty status in NKY?

Believe it, bad calls for both teams the whole game -
Bo Schuh (Cov Cath) joins the 1000 point club

Congratulations to Bo! He's had a High School career most kids an only dream about. Consider this: In the 3 years he's played varsity basketball for CovCath they are 84-14 with a State Championship plus whatever is to come this year. -

Would you be having fun if you were getting a beat down on the court? -

CovCath took over in the second half after a sluggish start. It's always nice to beat the guys down the street -
Scott at Cov Cath 2-3-15
KyBigHorns replied to JesusShuttlesworth's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Cov Cath will be ready to play at home tonight. According to my calculations this is only the 8th home game for the Colonels and the first since January 20th. I expect the crazies to be in high gear supporting their boys at home. Colonels will play well in front of the home crowd CCH by 15+ -
Hey I get it, I understand why the all A was created, for most of the teams it's a great event to compete in. My only thought is that NCC plays like a bigger school, they have better players, a better program and they do it year in - year out. Do they really gain anything by playing the first few rounds where they blow teams out by incredible margins. Many games the starters hardly play because of the competition. Maybe it doesn't hurt them in the long run ...maybe it does...IDK All I know is for a couple weeks in Jan-Feb they destroy a lot of teams in the all A and then struggle in the regionals....maybe no correlation.
