  1. I would like to thank Principal Caudill and the interview committee for the opportunity to interview for this position. I received word via voicemail they had decided this morning on another candidate, so I do not know who it was. I was told a week ago Monday during the interview there were over 20 applications, but not sure of the number interviewed. As a long-time coach on the Cincinnati side of the river, I chose to throw my coaching whistle in as I believe it's a prime situation for great growth. I've been through a few HC interviews, and I was impressed by what the district is looking to accomplish. I wish the new coach the best of opportunity to strengthen the district's football program.
  2. Thanks for the quick response...missed those details.
  3. Didn't Newport just hire a coach last season?
  4. In my 20 years of coaching, I have been as upper income publics and parochials, as well as inner-city public and an inner-city parochial. If you aren't aware of the differences in your student-athletes you will have a difficult time. There are different 'road blocks' for a coach in either instance. What is considered an after-thought in some schools will be a shock-awakener in others. Whereas a coach in a suburban school has to face parents pulling kids out of summer workouts for the family vacation, the same coach in the inner-city must face such as a kid calling and saying, "I can't come to practice because I have to watch my two younger brothers." Making sure your players are eating...not even properly...but eating to sustain themselves. Yes...that's an issue with inner-city teams. A coach can adapt if he wants to make a difference.
  5. Highlight package of Aiken v. Bishop Brossart.
  6. Saturday Night, September 22nd, the Xavier University club football team is holding its Youth Football Night. Youth players attending in their youth football jerseys are admitted free with paid adult attendance ($5/adult), and will get to see the Musketeers host Miami University's club team.
