UL just got a bunch of KY kids... were these all PWO's or are some of these scholarship offers? I know one thing, Darrian Bell is a great LB'er. Been one of my favorite players to follow in 2A the past few years, just did not have vintage Danville talent around him.

Probably the most accurate passer in the State in the last few years. When Lanter could set on his mark he was pinpoint accurate and downright lethal. I honestly think he could have translated easily to a FCS school if the system was right and more of a Pro Style system. Pocket passers just simply don't get the love they deserve any more. Everyone wants the RPO guy but not every team has the weapons to succeed at it.

McPeek played at Russell and then Marshall University. He was the HC at Fairview and led them to the State Finals, but it came with its fair share of drama. McPeek and Fairview got in trouble for playing an illegal player and had to forfeit the season. He went to Georgia as an assistant before returning and taking an assistant role at FD. To say McPeek creates a polarized response in how he is viewed is an understatement.

He finishes with one of the more underrated coaching careers in State History. Brown was an excellent coach.

Ashland beating Ironton, OH. 16-10 Ironton's only loss (regular season) and they went on to a State Runner-up Finish.

"The Dream Team" definitely has a chance to go down in EKY lure under the filing of "what could have been." Between Haddix, Greer, Mills, and Russell you had not only four former Head Coaches, but Head Coaches who had been established winners at well known programs. That's a lot of baggage to check at the door! I felt like that Belfry game in 2016 started the fire a little. I could wax poetically about some of the things Belfry felt...

The least surprising move: French to Corbin, Greer stays on as DC. With that said, if this happens you essentially will go from an ascending Head Coach with decades of coaching left to an established Head Coach probably starting the back end of his career. Would definitely be a different dynamic in Redhound Country.

My personal take: I like this move for both parties on the whole. I think Brandon Smith would have been very uncomfortable having to live up to his father's monster legacy. With Haddix you force everyone to realize that there is a new sheriff in town and a different way of doing things, so even though the pressure and expectations are lofty, they are also warranted and tempered fairly at the same time. Haddix can be polarizing and there...

Monumental coaching change! This is a move with multiple layers to dissect. All of which are very interesting topics of debate, a few of the more noticeable. 1. Did Brandon Smith pass on replacing his dad at his alma mater? Why would he do that? Is South Warren a better opportunity? Or is this more of the train of thought you never want to be the guy who comes after a legend? 2. If the rumors are true, did Boyle choose Haddix over Chris...

The format of the All BGP team and the intense research and review makes it very unique. For example, in order to make the team as an ATH requires that the player must legitimately play and contribute in more than one position (i.e., a dual threat QB who only plays Offense is not an ATH but a QB only... a WR who also runs jet sweeps is not an ATH but a WR only). Reese Smith and Michael Mayer are the only two kids who legitimately would have...

On a comical side note, our son is super adorable right now and is OBSESSED with basketball. He has been "shooting" since before he was 1 on at first a basketball pool float and then this little tiny goal he got for his one year birthday. For Christmas we got him a Little Tikes goal that he is non-stop playing on that should grow with him for a little while. "Shot Block" he swats the ball out of your hand and does the Dkembe Mutombo "Uh uh...

I had a startling revelation that I probably will not have a relaxing weekend to rest and nap for the forseeable future. Our second child is due at the start of March to go along with our wild 1.5 year old.

In terms of coaches leaving one job for another, these current HC's all changed the fortunes of one if not both programs: - Matney leaving Sheldon Clark for Johnson Central. - Wallace leaving Bowling Green for St. Xavier. - Eviston leaving NewCath for CovCath. - Haddix leaving Perry Central for Corbin - Dudley Hilton from Bell County to Bourbon County - Wolfe from PRP to Male Other notable switches I immediately recall when a Coach...

To be fair, if I did a second team I would anticipate two if not three Bluebirds to be firmly in the running it not listed on it.

Jamale Carothers was a hard name to leave off on my list. Most surprising career: WR/DB Keelan Cole, Central Cole was a very late bloomer and really didn't see a ton of action or notoriety at Central as a DB. Went to Kentucky Wesleyan and had a nice career at a small level. Undrafted Free Agent but has since earned a spot in the NFL as a WR with Jacksonville. Keelan Cole's 'amazing story' nears Super Bowl

I remember Randy having a kid that played in NKY but for whatever reason I completely let it go over my head that this was the same kid who is now a star TE at LSU!

Yep... Prestonsburg had a cataclysm of issues that lined up against them. First, they had a lull in talent after a high point in the early 2000's that coincided with Derossett being kind of in the twilight of his career. Then Johnson Central got good around them when Matney came from Sheldon Clark. Then the coal economy tanked. Then MacNamee got his program fired up at Pikeville and Johnson Central only got better.
