  1. From Facebook: Please continue to keep the Rebels in your thoughts and prayers as they prepare for Fridays game. Casey (Knee) William (Knee - lots of bad stuff) Levi M. (ankle) Keegan Kendrick ( Ankle) Trey (Ankle) Clint (broke collar bone again Friday) Seph (Shoulder) Cody C-Bass ( hand, x-rays on Wed) Hunter T (ankle) all need a little extra healing this week. Add Blake Mason (Shoulder & Knee) to the list.
  2. No QB Controversy: From the Advocate Messenger: Where there won’t be a change as of now is at quarterback, where Casey Whittle is going to start this week after being replaced by freshman Josiah Robbins last week. “As of now Casey is the starter, but Casey needs to settle down and play well for us,”¿French said. “He knows the offense and he’s got a strong arm. And he’s been nursing a knee (injury) also. I think Casey’s going to be fine.” But French also wants to make sure he gets the athletic Robbins on the field in some capacity. “Josiah has seen the field a little bit, and I think he’s going to play plenty,”¿French said. “He’s going to see the field, let’s put it that way.” I Agree with French. It is hard to replace 4 yrs experience. Casey moved the team well against Highlands for a half, the offense ran over Collins, Casey had a great 2 minute drill for 2 TD's in the Danville comeback. He does not run as well as Josiah, but does have great reads and hides the ball well in the wishbone, and is an adequate runner. He got off to a slow start last year as well., but still threw for over 1,500 yds. I expect the same this year. Casey is also nursing a MCL injury. I would expect to see Josiah on the field in some "wildcat" formations, some at RB, and more at a wideout. Getting the ball in his hands in open field will be a nice weapon. I really think the offense gets it together this week and next. I hope that the defense does as well. Still too many missed tackles and giving up big plays.
  3. Sorry... I didn't know you were on the field. I'll back off, done with this game and ready to move on.
  4. Maybe you should lay off our sons..... If your son was out there then maybe you could speak to what goes on in a football game and practice. I appreciate that you are a fan of Boyle football, but as an adult, I am asking that you not bash KIDS that are out there playing a GAME.
  5. Does anyone know when 7 on 7 play begins and where the Rebels might be going? I think that we might get some hint as to who the #2 QB might be then? So far it has looked like Whittle has been getting the #2 snaps in the June voluntary workouts.
  6. Not sure I would call them "Fans" if they left with the boys on the field.
  7. Does anyone know if the lots labeled "Open Parking" are free to the public?
  8. Congratulations to Duran! He will join some other 12th region pitchers there. Matthew Robinson (Mercer Co.) is a sophomore, and Garrick Whittle (Boyle Co.) is a freshman. A nice tribute to pitching in the area.
  9. I think that this will be a very close game until kickoff. Boyle wins 54-7
  10. Another great game by the baby Rebels. This game was over in the first two minutes, when the Rebels scored on a 52yd TD pass on the first play, then pick up a Lincoln fumble and returned it for a TD. Whittle had another good game, throwing 3 TD's in the first half. Hellyer with another great defensive game.
  11. If both teams get to that point, I think that the game will be in Boyle this year.
  12. I think that the JV QB job will be split time between Hale and freshman Casey Whittle. Hester has been working primarily with the defense.
  13. Rock's varsity was just too big and too quick for our JV defense. There were a lot of freshmen playing for us as well. It was a good learning experience. The only other game that I got to see was a win against Cumberland Gap (TN) varsity. The offense looked really good in that game, with Hale throwing 4 TD's and Whittle throwing a couple of long TD passes as well. Drew Henderson looked like he will be a good reciever.
  14. The Rebels JV and freshmen made a pretty good showing at Union as well, finishing 5th overall among the varsity teams. There only loss before the tourny was to Rock's varsity. They still have a lot to learn, but they showed some promise.
