  1. ...and still lost 53-6. While I don't foresee Mercer scoring 53 again this year by any stretch of the imagination, their defense is largely intact from last year. While I agree in your assesment of the SL QB, don't expect Mercer's D to be on the field all night. :thumb:
  2. Boyle was very balanced in both halves. 100 yds or so passing in each half. Around 100 yards rushing for the game. Both of their TD's were pass plays. Mercer had less than 20 yds. rushing in the 1st half, but made adjustments and exploded in the 2nd for over 170 and ended up with close to 200. Around 70 or 80 yds passing. Pretty even game statistically. Mercer had 0 turnovers while Boyle threw 3 Int's. Defense was the difference in these two teams. Mercer as usual played physical and made the plays it needed to on defense. When Mercer's offense plays to it's strengths and holds on to the ball.....they are tough to handle as a team. Anyway, hope this is what you were looking for.
  3. Great job Titans. Getting in the straight bone and just taking it to 'em early in the second half really turned the momentum. Tale of two halves. Titans responded well in the 2nd. Keep up the good work. :thumb:
  4. Should be the "litmus test" game for Mercer this year. I think we'll see the best Titan performance of the year. MC-27 BC-14
  5. Exactly when is the last time you've seen it??? 300 rushing yards will win alot of games.....unless you give it to the other team 4 times. Turnovers and penalties are what's hurting our offense the most right now.
  6.....If Mercer has the 2, we'll take it! Be nice to win one of these close ones we've been on the short end of.:thumb:
  7. Enough said. No need wondering about how this happened any further. Thanks for the info.
  8. Defense did play very well (again). If we're honest with ourselves we can all say there were bound to be some rough patches this year. We're going through them now. Nobody panic, see the positives, and rest assured what is broken now.....will be fixed.
  9. Has to be Andrew McCloud 22 players on the field and 200 or so folks in the stands knew he was getting the ball almost every snap.....and he still got 'er done. One of the most determined players I have ever seen.
  10. Maybe you don't understand that 80 points was lenient. It sounds to me as though Frankfort could have scored MUCH more than that.
  11. Little things (that make a world of difference) 1. Speeding up the offensive tempo, which allows for a more effective offensive attack. Getting to the line quicker, streamlining the plays into the huddle, etc... 2. Fresh eyes approach upstairs and on sidelines looking for continuous improvement. 3. Beginning to turn up the expectation levels for execution and accountability. This seemed to raise urgency and intensity output from the players. Summarizing, there were just several little changes made that allowed our guys more advantages. As Buffalo said, it just starts a domino effect from line to backs to defense. This young team is really progressing. Can't wait to see how good they are when they peak at playoffs. Great job to all.:thumb:
  12. Hats off to the coaching staff. Some necessary adjustments made a world of difference tonight. Good effort overall. Nice to see Titan football on display again.
  13. Trust me on this one buddy. Several dropped passes but the ones that were caught were beautifully thrown balls. Very few mistakes, and most importantly, he left it all on the field. Pulaski had him under quite a bit of pressure most of the night, and they should get most of the credit for the low offensive production in the second half. They made great adjustments at halftime. Pulaski played turnover free football as well. Couple that with the fact that Mercer shot themselves in the foot (lining up offsides..twice, delay of games, etc...); that killed drives, and that too contributed to the low numbers on offense. We just had trouble putting a sustained drive together in the second half. You missed a really good game.
